Apparently the NFL told teams if they were interested in hosting the Superbowl – they have to start giving up home games to go to London.

cadhlancian

Did Shrewdness's cousins tell you that??

Sounds like something Goodell would do alright. It's not so much the giving up of a home game that surprises me, that's going on already. It's giving up a home DIVISION game. That's a big call.

Are the Dolphins the designated home team?

Gabriel_Hurl

Yes - the Dolphins, Jags and Chiefs are the "home" teams next year

The the new England show on Sunday was a great game to watch, despite the margin. Gronkowski is unplayable at times when him and Brady click.

Was really impressed by the Patriots pass defense as well. It's not often Peyton has so few throws in the red zone.

Big Ben turning it on at the Steelers as well is good to see. As someone said earlier, most open season in years and hard to pick the favorit at this stage.

Very comprehensive win alright. The Pats defense were able to put a lot of pressure on Manning and he struggled in the cold weather again. Gronk is some monster and Edelman and LaFell are flying too. I watched "Inside the NFL" the week after the heavy Kansas defeat and the obituaries were being written by Boomer Esiason and co. - "An ageing quarterback with nobody to throw to" etc. Brady must have been watching too.

Apparently the Patriots weren't too happy with this tackle by TJ Ward,

which they saw as a dirty shot at Gronk's knee. He was the same guy who did Gronkowski's knee last year. It looks pretty nasty but since they outlawed the high, helmet-to-helmet tackles the defenders have to go low, and it's the best(only) way to take someone of that size. Imo shouldn't be allowed though.

So, is it to be 4th quarter fireworks for Auburn, or will it be AW-Burn?  Aggies look ready to fizzle themselves.

Oraisteach

Sheesh! Auburn down by 3, fumbles at the 1 yard line.  Aggies have the ball. 2:30 left, but backs to the wall.

Oraisteach

Almost a safety. A & M to punt from deep in the end zone.  Auburn has it on the 36, no timeouts!

Wow! Auburn fumbles the snap--play under review--Aggies recover! No more magic.

This could be where the SEC eats itself. Auburn could easily beat Bama and Georgia. The SEC champion will go even with 2 losses, but will a team like Alabama or Auburn make it with 2 losses? I think not unless they win the SEC. Opens it up for the big 10 and big 12.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's Mississippi state, Florida state, Michigan state and Oregon at the end of it all.

Syferus

Heart attack time yet again. Just not of the good kind for a change.

First half killed the Tigers, even despite the late fumbles they were stellar in the second half. Ah well, still have rivalry games with Georgia and Bama coming up - plenty to play for even if the play-offs may have to wait for another year.

You're probably right, AZ, but even FSU is off to a wobbly start against Virginia.  Of course, hoping for a Buckeye upset in East Lansing.  Few, except Tony F, should be booking hotel rooms yet for the college playoffs.
