GAA matches have been behind a paywall forever. Even before TV we always had to pay to get in to watch a game live. Why do people expect to get every game beamed into their houses for free but have to pay for the privilege of travelling half the country to watch it live? Maybe we have it arse about face, perhaps we should make it free to get in the ground at all games at every level but put every match on tv behind a paywall.

Sean Cavanagh  ;D  Looking to get himself noticed again.

No one is saying that the likes of a streaming service is not a revenue builder, before streaming we still had reasons to generate money, but some matches like Saturday night with everything on the line for Cork at home against the reigning champions needs viewed free

Is Gaago owned by RTE or the GAA?

They need to decide on an ongoing basis which matches to broadcast live instead of fixing everything before the championship starts.

Just put football games on it..

Happy with the point from the position they ended up in. Awful start, and not for the 1st time this year. Some very close offside calls for both teams. I thought it was gone considering the lack of options on the villa bench at the minute but on comes Duran.

It's a pity Diaby is so out of form cos he had the winning of that match.

Hoping for a city win tomorrow night.

Scales is an out and out defender, he's best when he has his back to the wall and BR knows this. When he has time on the ball he gets a bit indecisive but when Celtic are under the cosh he's your man, he'll defend all day and night and put his body on the line to do it. Celtic have better CH's than Scales but maybe not to go to war with...you get what i'm saying.
I just loved Jamesie Forrest's last 4 weeks, the wee man has got some grief of the fans and i just don't understand it TBH, never gives the ball away and is an intelligent footballer. I know he's not the quickest anymore and may not have the engine to last 90 mins but that experience of winning can't be bought and he has it in spades.
BR told everyone judge me in May and he has delivered, I'm not gonna lie, 6 weeks ago I thought we were toast and they had all the momentum but they still have that losing mentality and Celtic have winners in their squad. Football can turn so quickly in a matter of weeks.

How much would it cost to setup a service like that though? GAAGO far cheaper than sky was to the individual. Sky was 20 quid a month for sports if you didn't have it and you were bound to a contract. It's not that bad at all and then there are the how many games are on tv anyway, how much time does RTÉ dedicate to Gaa every weekend of there's nothing but games on etc.

I haven't pulled out the recent accounts but I remember seeing a couple of years ago 40, 50, 60million of cash reserves and a balance sheet of €100million. I'm an accountant, I know this stuff.

"For an amateur organisation owned by the members, owned by the people that are lining pitches, by people in every club up and down the country, for me that looks like a very healthy position.

"I previously worked with a lot of soccer organisations, a lot of them go bust all the time and haven't got 2p to rub together. For me, the GAA is in a very healthy financial position, they're acquiring lots of strategic assets all over the country.
