Kicking off tonight. No idea of groups or whatever way they're playing it this time.

Meath hitting the ground running.  Louth well beaten by Wexford another long year for Louth?

Full Time
Meath 3-11
Laois 0-06

Only 2 scores on the last 17 mins but job done anyway. Won't read too much into it. Andy has the lads training since October so probably a step ahead in terms of fitness. What good that will do is next summer remains to be seen

Longford 1-07
Wicklow 1-06

Wicklow missed buckets of scores in 1st half

Lot of games off today.

Full time in Ashbourne.
Meath 1-05
Longford 0-09

Poor conditions and we had a second string team out. Longford started strong 0-05 to 0-00 but we raillied a bit in the second half. Not much to write home about. Andy has named a much stronger side for the charity match against the Dubs tomorrow.

Won handy enough today 1-20 to 1-13 against Wexford today.

Into the semi against the Dubs at the neutral venue Parnell Park. Dublin will be a lot tougher than the team we faced for the Sean Cox charity game.

How was today's game as a spectacle with the new rules?

Looked great on the radio I have to say.

Longford play the winners of Westmeath and Kildare who are playing tomorrow.

Confusion briefly reigned in Longford on Sat as there was a doubt as to whether Longford qualified - seems Leinster council are not keen to issue Group tables that are accurate.

Anyway we now face Westmeath on Sat at 2pm (prob in The Downs - is Cusack Park under renovation?) in what could be a bit of craic. Longford, of course, are short the Mullinalaghta boys, but are giving young lads a chance and most are coming through with flying colours.

Meath should beat Dublin so, one way another, looks like O'Byrne Cup final could be a good one.

Cusack Park not under renovation, they are just spreading the games around. The Offaly games was in St.Lomans but was originally fixed for Parc Ciarain, Athlone. Pitch wasn't right.
