Dunmore, Tuam and St Grellans would have provided most of the All Ireland winners pre 1998. Tuam, Dunmore and Corofin are in north Galway.

St Grellans last county title was in 1980. Tuam's last win was in 1994.
Dunmore's was in 1983. Dunmore would be associated with the Donnellans who have 3 generations of all Ireland medals

Corofin emerged as a force in 1998 when they won the club all Ireland. Since then they have won around 15 county titles.

Monaghan is dominated by rural clubs.
Monaghan Harps only have 3 titles, in 8th place.

The biggest town in the county, the widest pick of players. And yet no senior championship since 1923. Just four final appearances in 98 years.
In a county like Monaghan, everyone moves away. To Dublin, to Belfast, to Derry, wherever. But somehow the country clubs like Scotstown and Clontibret and Ballybay always make sure the elastic doesn't snap.
McManus spent his 20s in Dublin but still won five county titles with Clontibret. Conor McCarthy was a mainstay of UCD Sigerson teams and could still gather up five titles of his own with Scotstown. They won 15 titles in 17 years between 1913 and 1929. They added 5 more between 1930 and 1980 . Nothing since.
Crossmaglen can either keep on winning or fade away slowly.

Monivea-Abbeyknockmoy are the football team and Abbeyknockmoy are the hurling team -  they are from the same parish.
The hurlers won the hurling championship in 1988 and the footballers were champions in 1992. Tomas Mannion played on both teams AFAIK,

In the early years of the GAA the dominant team in kerry was Tralee John Mitchel's, the only team in Tralee.  In 1927 the team was broken into 3 for competition purposes- Mitchels, Austin Stacks and Kerins O'Rahillys. Kerry also has teams amalgamated from a few parishes, called Divisional teams, which also boost competitiveness.  What you end up with is a fair spread of competitiveness across the county. And that is what you need to win  all Irelands.

The top 7 teams have between 9 and 13 titles.
Very different to the Cross model. If Cross are weak Armagh probably won't come up with a replacement.

The pre-1925 entrants from Tralee were a representative side, Tralee Mitchels, formed by combining the three street league teams, namely Rock Street, Strand Road and Boherbue.  1925-1928 saw a divisional side just called "Tralee" enter (no Mitchels added, but sometimes referred to as Tralee Parnells which was the hurling team from the town). 

1928-1932 saw the three streets enter using their street names.  In 1932, Rock Street was renamed Austin Stacks, Boherbue became John Mitchels and Strand Street became O'Rahilly's (the Kerins part was added in 1953 in memory of club member Charlie Kerins who was hanged on 1 Dec 1944 after Eamonn de Valera's government refused to issue a reprieve following his guilty verdict in the killing of Garda Detective Denis O'Brien in September 1942, but that's a different story). 

It is correct to state that Austin Stack (the man) played his championship football with Tralee Mitchels, often a sore point among supporters of both clubs.

Current leaders of County Championship wins is:

Dr. Crokes and Austin Stacks with 13 each

John Mitchels, Laune Rangers, East Kerry, South Kerry have 10 each

Tralee Mitchels have 9

Dingle, Kerins O'Rahilly's 6 each
