First of all I'm completely biased here and i know it. Cavanagh is quite probably the worst pundit in history. His lack of research is appalling, on a par with Spillane and Brolly, but he's just no loquacious enough to cover it up. He has an odd sense of humour. And his sense of place - I.e. talking about grassroots - always seems based on what he reads on Twitter rather than what's happening in an actual club.
So what did he say that's incorrect? From my perspective he's taking swipes and he doesn't have the foggiest what it is he's swiping at. He's just throwing out irrelevances. Joining in on conversation that he doesn't care much about, and accidentally taking it off on a new angle that nobody needs.
Worse than Tony Davis?

Quote from: whitey on Today at 02:36:26 PMQuote from: Itchy on Today at 02:22:46 PMNow I have a question for you, If your applicant has his/her finger prints taken and if they are put into the international criminal database and they come back as having no record of criminality on that database - Do you now consider that person to be "vetted"?
How do you thoroughly vet someone whose identity you can't verify (or someone who comes from a country where records may Be non existent).
Is it a good start-yes
But it is the bare minimum we should be doing.
I would say that they have passed a preliminary vetting
Where a thorough vetting is impossible or impractical I think we should be using every possible tool available and currently we're not doing that
(Even though the government and NGOs lied and said we were)

Quote from: tbrick18 on Today at 02:28:05 PMQuote from: seanyb on Today at 02:08:09 PMAll very quiet on the build up to Saturday. Have we a clean bill of health? Murphy and McKinless fit? Not sure what to expect to be honest, let's hope we get the 2 pts and get back on the wagon again
Derry camp have been very quiet since the donegal game.
McKinless is a must at the best of times, but now we are without mcgrogan it add even more pressure on that half back line.
Galway with Comer back are a different proposition and will be high on confidence after winning provincial honours. But, that might help us. Could be difficult for them to re-focus so quickly after winning a final.
For Derry, we really need to up our game after the Donegal match to be in with a shout. Galway are our bogey team and we're away - a huge ask.
