General discussion / Anti dog barking devices
January 08, 2011, 03:56:31 PM
Just wondering if anyone can recommend one of these high pitched devices, we have 6 dogs in close proximity to our place & they are driving me nuts to say the least, have already had a word with the dogs owners but it hasn't worked, so i'm going to try one of these gadgets to try.

I think it's about time the powers that be got tough on the totally unappropriate language used by supporters at GAA matches.
The 'Respect' initiative is a step in the right direction but the language that my 10 year old + every other child & indeed adult had to listen to at last Sunday's game in Ballybofey was disgusting to say the least, the prat that was the main offender was of the opinion that because he had paid in, he was entitled to shout whatever he wanted, that was until he & I had an exchange of words which thankfully nipped it in the bud.
Does anyone else have reservations about bringing children to games due to the use of bad language by some sections of so called 'supporters', I for one definately do.

Following on from his bigoted objections to Bryansford GAA clubs' planning application, I see he is now quoted in the local press as  being opposed to Down District Council's decision to contribute £2000 towards the hosting of GAA congress in Newcastle recently, he is of the opinion that the GAA is a "vastly profitable" organisation & thought it was a "waste of money" he also states that he was "surprised" that a member of the UUP seconded the motion proposed by the SDLP.
I have to say that I'm not surprised by his latest rant against an organisation that he & his cronies are obviously extremly jealous of & better still, I do have a laugh to myself when I read each one of his rants because it shows me the envy he has towards the GAA.

Does anyone else think that this is totally wrong not to allow our own members a training session on the hallowed turf before their game in Croke?

General discussion / Do you sit or stand?
March 26, 2010, 03:23:06 PM
I was listening to a chat show last night on the radio & the discussion came to toilet habbits, one of the (male) hosts said he stood up to wipe his posterior to the horror of his co-host who was also male, some blade rang in & said that by wiping when you are standing up led to "skid marks", I was in kinks laughing at the 2 presenters & also the people ringing in with their opinions, should be interesting to hear the views of the board members on this one.

General discussion / Handheld VHF radios
March 07, 2010, 08:59:40 PM
Just wondering could anyone reccomend a good quality handheld VHF or even an explanation as to why I cant seem to be able to make contact with the radio I have, I have a Cobra MR HH325 but the signal seems to be poor when trying to use it out on the water in the Newcastle Co. Down area, didn't realise this until I needed to contact the Coastguard & it wouldn't work for some reason, which was a right pain in the ass to be honest, any advice would be much appreciated.

Would it be fair to say that if you are comfortable breaking wind in the presence of your girlfriend/boyfriend that you are in love with them if you feel this is acceptable?

General discussion / A man's time of the month.
December 16, 2009, 10:19:52 PM
Society seems to accept that it's ok for the majority of women to be impossible to deal with for 1 week every month, why is it then that the male breed isn't allowed to have an 'off' day now & again without having to give a 1000 word explanation?

General discussion / Morgan's Spiced
December 07, 2009, 11:03:08 PM
It's not too hard to tell that the season is over, hence the lack of GAA discussion taking place.
I've been a drinker of Jameson for years but after hearing lots of other people talking about this stuff (including my father-in-law who has been drinking Bushmills for 50 years) so today I bought a bottle of Morgan's Spiced & I have to confeess that it is quite the dogs b@lls, anyone else on here a fan & if so what's the best way to drink it?
I usually drink Jameson neat but with the Morgan's Spiced i'm trying it with a little coke & ice.

GAA Discussion / Christy Cooney
November 01, 2009, 10:35:24 PM
I was watching a recording of this years All Stars ceremony today & couldn't help but notice how uncomfortable Christy Cooney appeared to be when he was on camera, every time the camera was on him he was like a rabbit caught in the headlights of a car, he just doesn't come across with the same confidence of previous presidents for some reason.
