Saw him first in '83 in the minor final v Derry, he was playing midfield.
Met him the day after the senior final in '93 in the Burlington
Same age , makes you realise what life is about when these thing hit your pens age.
Fantastic athlete around the middle for a relative small midfielder.

RIP Teddy McCarthy what a legend.
It was shameful how he was treated a few years back for a jubilee celebration.

What happened  with the jubilee?

I am not one to start forums, but after watching the Lochra Gael show on him a half hour ago, it truly makes you appreciate what a legend the man was.
The word ''Legend' can often get overused but in his his case it is understated.
Do yourself a favor and watch the show.
I was hoping it would not end.
If some producer can extend it by another half hour please do so.
What a modest unassuming person he was.
One particular quote in the show probably describes him best, after Cork beat Meath in 1990, he just became a dual All-Ireland winner in the same year, he then said
'I ran to the dressing room so as not to take the attention from the rest of the team and subs"
God rest him.

Teddy was a very good player in his prime in both games. Gone far too young.

Teddy always struck me as a decent character. Hard-headed but decent.
He stuck to his guns when he had a run in with some dogsbodies outside Croke Park a few years ago.
He was meant to be in the half time presentation but after being messed around at the turnstiles, he tore up his ticket and turned for home.

A wonderful player. We're so lucky to have had him grace our games. Comes across as a really really good sort. Very sad news.
