No need for names being posted, great game ruined by the end. Definitely one of the best games this year I've seen. Tense game lough went three up, I though they had us but a goal helped us to claw back. A game which should be talked about for being a great battle between two rivals unfortunately won't be due to the actions of a few.

is tyrone among only a few counties that do straight knockout as championship. I  think that is best way as counties already have leagues for multigame formats  some counties have questionable formats imo i was looking at Derry's format and all teams in the group stage qualify for the knockout stage i know they are playing for seeding but there must be a lack of suspense and  jeopardy in the group stage.

Due to the format of the championship in Derry, the league is rendered useless. Relegation is decided through the championship group stage

Standard of league football has dipped imo, maybe its people being away travelling but some teams seem very weak.

Errigal ticking along nicely
We are likely looking at Senior football being at its weakest it has been in a long time. Only two teams of genuine quality would be Trillick and Errigal. After a lot of teams could make a point for being the next best team - Dungannon, Killyclogher, Dromore. A lot of big teams are at a transition stage like Coalisland and Omagh and then a lot of the other teams are young and finding their feet like Carrickmore. I think its just the teams now aren't as strong as they were rather than Friday games causing a decline.

Finding our feet? We won the league last year, we've already beaten last years championship winners

Whilst Friday night is a good idea from the supporter and player perspective, I ultimately feel it has led to a down turn in quality of football we are seeing. This could be down to a number of reasons -

1. End of the working week, straight home & straight to game with little preparation - not ideal
2. Due to Friday nights, most teams can only train Tuesday (one night) in advance therefore again affecting performance in comparison to normal situation of 2 nights training & game on a Sunday
3. Holidays, travelling, USA, working away etc
4. Young lads nowadays don't have GAA at the top of their priority list, there is a lot more going on in their lives and massive opportunities work wise which means moving away or working a distance from home

Friday nights are popular among the players due to the social aspect also and obviously supporters like the idea but definitely it is noticeable that the standard has dropped.

Maybe, I am being harsh here but I have seen loads of football over the last 6/8 weeks at all adult levels and there is no stand out team particularly at senior level which for sure creates competitiveness and excitement during the league & championship.

Really isn't a social aspect in my opinion, most clubs still go Sunday mornings. Not all but most

Round of league games on both the 15th and 17th july? Would that not be the one week in the whole calendar you would think would have no games let alone two  :-\ ::) that's bound to be peak holiday season for club players surely

Double round 29th and 31st July as per website.

Where is 15th and 17th info from?
There is no fixtures on the websitre past this friday as far as I can see.
Why only the one week break? surely this year we had a little more time to play with than previous years?

If you click onto the league table then click onto your club you will see fixtures up until the end of the season not including championship obviously. Double round as Norf said on 29th and 31st July.

Thanks Square Ball. That's been wrecking my head how to find them!

Double fixtures on a Friday and Sunday are a serious physical demand on players. I'm not sure if there's any other sport where it would happen, although I could be wrong.

Final round of fixtures is September 2nd with the Ulster club kicking off November 6th. You would like to think the CCC would be giving teams a free week after the final league fixtures and before the 1st round of championship and having the championship final two weeks before the Ulster club. That only leaves 6 weeks to run off the Championship which you wouldn't want reduced much more. Not sure where else you would fit these games in.

Unfortunately the Friday night travel from one side of the county to another is a downside of the Friday night games. I think everyone prefers having the games on a Friday though as opposed to a Sunday?

According to the Tyrone website the double round of fixtures is on 29 and 31 July, not 15 & 17 July. The fixture for the 15th goes ahead as normal which is absolutely ridiculous as it is holiday high season for that 1 week each year

The County Board appear to have changed the two week holiday break this year to 1st July - 15 July. I could be wrong but I believe the break normally occurs from the weekend of 12th for two weeks?

100% correct but the CCC like to do things their way

Really there's only a one week break, there's no game on friday 8th that's the only week free. Not much of a holiday for us lads

Was told there that as many as 8 reserves games won't be played this Friday due to a lack of referees available

Some interesting results tonight:
Greencastle return to Senior going well with big win over Moortown (Think they celebrated too long after beating Ardboe... was a mini champo session I believe)
Owen Roes go to Pomeroy and turn them over

Also on another note what is up with 2 senior teams not being able to field a reserve team so early in the year???

Moy and derrylaughan notorious for not fielding reserves. The thinking round our club was moy we're at home so they would field reserves, unfortunately not the case. Disappointing as 20+ lads left with no football

Be a short club season this year

17 x weeks left!

It'll still run till October.

We played errigal Saturday before Christmas, we'll finish two months earlier if all goes to plan

We beat errigal well at home, wouldn't read much into it think they only had three starters from last year on. Must be a nightmare for management with 8 men away with the county.

In terms of senior division, errigal (7) possibly 8 of younger canavan gets called up, dromore (4) and Carrickmore (4) are the teams most effected by star games
Trillick also 4
Who are the 7 errigal men ?

Darragh McAnenley, Niall Kelly, Peter Harte, Joe Oguz, Ben McDonnell, Darragh Canavan but not sure who the 7th is....

Was told cormac quinn has joined the panel. Young corner back previously captained Tyrone u20s

The whole thing makes a joke of the gaa, greencastles appeal was thrown out by Tyrone, ulster and croke park already before the case took place
