Read that earlier. Think he too harsh in places and makes sense in others.

I don't think many supporters would give up a lot of the uniqueness that he feels is holding the club back. Its ingrained in the people of the area rather than the club and that shouldn't be changed.

Never understood why City's owners didn't buy Liverpool, a few hundred million would have turned you around as opposed to the 2 billion they've probably spent on City.

Can't disagree with much of that from Neville.  Liverpool stopped winning league titles around the time they lost some key people within the club who had a bit of foresight and who were very good at what they did. The club and supporters have harked back too much to the past over the last 20 odd years. Maybe this is what can happen when success on the pitch dries up but what made Liverpool great for so many years was the forward thinking and intelligence of key people in the club. The club never replaced those individuals adequately. Liverpool never did sentimentality and nostalgia until the early 1990s.
That's just, like your opinion man.

How Neville gets away with writing articles like this when he is an England assistant manager I'll never know. Its a textbook conflict of interests and will come back to bite him in the arse, he'll become the next Terry Venables, a pontificating know it all who people will finally see through and get bored of.

Some of his Sky Sports analysis is good but the vast majority is just the ramblings of a boring toss with far too much time on his hands to research and prepare his supposedly groundbreaking opinions. If GNev was as good a coach as he is a spoofer off the pitch England wouldn't have come bottom of their World Cup group.

To think that the FA are appointing some of the biggest Yes men of recent times in Hodgson and Southgate but bend the rules for Nev, even they must have fallen for his expert soundbite smokescreen.

Fully agree
Though I'd say closer to mid 90's than early 90's

Had zero time for G Neville as a footballer...... but actually find him first class in his Sky role which was a major surprise...

making a solid case for avery large investment to FSG. Five?

Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity

AZOffaly

What the f**k is going on there? That is just not acceptable. If the players have that attitude, they are making FSGs decision for them. Something has to be going on.

brokencrossbar1

Disgusting is the only word I can think of. Is the manager to blame? Are the players to blame? Are FSG to blame? They're all to blame and there seems to be an acceptance of mediocrity as the 'par' for the club. Big changes needed.
