Folks can we go to the Hyde and beat Roscommon ....  watched their game against Down and I think their overall physically stronger than Derry .... does anyone know if its on Tg4 either live or deferred coverage.   

Id say they will start withe same team that started the 2nd half v Clare with McKinless and McFaul on.   

Have they anyone on the bench that can make an impact at this higher level ?  Good luck to team and all the supporters who are travelling to the game.

Absolutely a great victory with 11 players on the score sheet and fair play to Benny Heron for his sheer determination and desire in that Derry jersey and to all the squad in a well-managed team effort.   Also significant that Gareth McKinless and Ciaran McFall  on after injury and making a big impact.  Div 1 beckons if we can dismantle Roscommon.

About 20yrs ago we played Clare twice in in 2 years both in Ennis .... one was a re-fixture as game was called off due to heavy snow ... we lost both games i think.   One of them was the same day as Balinderry won the All Ireland Club Championship in Thurles.   

Any word if McFauland and McKinless will be fit to play this Sunday?

At this stage does anyone know if  (due to the severe weather conditions) if any NFL matches that will be OFF ?

eg Kerry v Donegal or  Derry  v Cork

Derry, like most teams now,  play the short kick-out options   So as to not be so predictable and beat the opposition "press" we need the option of a long direct kick-out to a high catching mid-fielder and if Glass was not playing who have we in our panel ? ..... that said most teams will have that problem.  Down and Derry are usually tight games .... so its the small margins that will count and strength in depth is crucial coming into the last 10 mins.

In terms of getting promotion to Div 1 I reckon that games against Galway, Cork, Roscommon and Clare will ensure that Derry won't get promoted.  They just don't have enough good forwards and mid-field replacement to win a significant percentage of kick outs .

I'd settle for them maintaining their Div 2 status with what is a fairly young squad.

I meant paying to actually attend the game, do tickets need bought in advance?

Its most likely prep paid ticket only ... not 100% sure

I suppose the Derry team to play Monaghan will not be released until about 7.40 pm tomorrow night !!!!!

I wonder can The Bridge and Bellaghy re-egnite the great games the had in the Sixties - thats what needs to happen to give our Senior Championship a bit of a boost and awaken too giants out of their slumber.

 In the current "water break" scenario .... then key game-plan situations can be addressed to the players ... by the start of the 4th quarter the best players will be on the field ... this is when McShane can have a huge impact.
