Someone needs to get in Clifford's face 🤷

It'll not matter.

You think roughing him up will put him off?

Mc Kernan is a muppet.

Got Clifford booked.

Wee Davy gives his breakdown on the Cork demolition of Dublin and where Dublin went wrong.

I'd agree with him on most of it as the Dublin half backs were caught in limbo as they never pushed up on the Cork half forwards who were roaming around midfield picking up an abundance of loose ball and able to pick out their FF line as the very same Dublin half backs weren't covering back enough in front of their fullback line leaving them badly exposed.

you either stay deep to cover that space to prevent the ball going into those spaces but allow yourselves to be outnumbered in midfield where Cork can take long range points and kill you off that way or you follow them out the field and make that area an absolute battleground and be extremely physical in there to put the Cork halfbacks and midfield on their arses and not allow them the time and space to get the running game going or to get quality ball into their full forward line.

Clare did it last year, backed their corner backs in particular to do a job on their respective markers and hope your midfielders can punch holes in the Cork defence which the Dublin lads were able to do even with the scraps they were working from.
The problem was they were leaking heavily at the back.

Will Tipp push out on the Cork half forwards and maybe keep Connolly back in around the house and allow Maher the freer role???

Much to ponder for Liam Cahill going into next Sunday week.

Davy Fitz giving out about Dublin and their management after the year he had with Antrim.

OMG.

Quote from: AustinPowers on July 10, 2025, 07:12:39 PMIs the  train  into Drumcondra an option for Ulster teams? From the likes of Dunboyne/Enfield?

How about the airport bus?  Would this be a good  option to avoid  traffic jams  around Drumcondra? And would this provide a  good head start for  the journey home again?

Do what Michael O'Leary did and buy a taxi licence.  :)

Straight on to the bus/taxi lane.

Quote from: zapped on July 10, 2025, 01:47:21 PMDidn't see that news coming! Yet again I don't see any internal 'derry' candidates capable of taking the role. Gilligan and Muldoon the closest but even then I don't know if they've ever been in the lead role. Paddy Bradley or Johnny McBride, both unlikely. Same with Barry Dillon.

The Dungiven manager probably the closest thing we have but he's a few years away, hugely promising though

Who's he and what you basing that on?

Yeah, a complete joke.

Derry county board and this senior job has become a bit of a drama this past few years.

A circus in fact.

Asbestos, Risk to power lines,  hospitals nearby.... but go ahead,  light your bonfire.

The north really is  a retarded cesspit run by  a shower  of useless  pricks

A joke.

You go and try to gather up bushes in a field and burn them - never mention the tyres etc. and council will be down on you like a ton of bricks.

Wouldn't be tolerated anywhere else in Europe.

I think Tyrone will edge it.

Be hard for Kerry to bring the same fire they brought V Armagh in my opinion.

If only the GAA top brass put as much effort into promoting our game as theses 'celebs' and commentators etc.

GAA marketing is poor enough in my opinion.

I see a lot of the Limerick lads doing analysis on tv etc. nowadays i.e. Flanagan and Morrissey.

Seems strange to me. Lads usually wait until they retire.

Or maybe that's the new 'thing' nowadays?

Quote from: thebigfullforward on July 06, 2025, 02:48:15 PMOur midfield is invisible and has been all year

I'd say this is possibly one of the worst takes I've ever read on a team. Mulgrew in particular is a superb footballer. Hard to believe anyone can watch that Tyrone team this year and draw the conclusion that he's been invisible.
Genuinely don't see what others are seeing. He was better in this game than he was in previous but I just don't rate him. Would like to see the kickout statistics particularly in the first half because it seemed like Kerry were winning the large majority. I think he'll be another player like McHugh or McGleenan who can dominate in the underage games but haven't broke out in seniors as of yet and I can't see them ever doing it unfortunately

Bit mad writing a lad off for seniors...and him only 16 or 17.

Let the lad develop in his own time.

A mess at the end with the scoreboard. KK were clearly going for goals, thinking they needed 1, instead of tapping over a couple of scores.

Jacqui asking Cummins what he thought about it and he waffled about KK people being honourable people etc. Then she didn't ask the other 2 what their opinion was. Tried to gloss over it.

Real good game. Goals win matches but KK were very sloppy in last 10 mins - a couple of poor passes by Reid and Deegan. A few showers made things tricky for both sides. Huge effort and intensity. Tipp's ff line got the scores although their free-taking needs a better conversion rate. Connolly was good out the field with Maher in at full back. Connolly got a few points also. Versatile lad. Mc Grath is still class. Has the vision. Silly 2nd yellow for Mc Carthy - will Cahill trust him in the final with his petiness. He very young still but got caught again.

TJ was excellent. He,in that form, could go on for another 2 years...a lá Ronaldo. Mullan was slack but as he knew he was getting hooked, he got 2 quick points. Mossy is, well...Mossy and got 5 or 6pts. Works hard.

All in all, a good physical battle.

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on July 06, 2025, 02:44:38 AMThe problem with ulster teams is there so few of them ,what's in Derry 10? Should be 20. Tyrone got what 5/6? Should be the same. The problem is there's nobody in clubs with hurling bck grounds to successfully start a club hurling team up and keep it going.

Tyrone and Donegal have more hurling clubs than Derry I'd say.

Especially at underage.
