Innocent enough one, guilty pleasures.

I came across one there last night on Amazon Prime 'A Belfast Story'.....wasn't the worst show I've ever watched, but seen it was absolutely ridiculed when it was released. The ending wasn't exactly fool proof but it had the makings of a really decent show.

50 Dead Men Walking is a show I liked that nobody else seemed to.

'The Interview' with Seth Rogan and James Franco....absolute rubbish, but for some reason I quite liked it.

General discussion / Great TV / Movie Characters
September 22, 2020, 11:36:41 AM
Just having a chat in work about David Brent from the Office, how he was one of the most cringworthy yet can't take your eyes off him characters in TV history.

What other great TV / Film characters come to your mind for any particular reason. Hero/Anti Hero/Villain/Comedic

Some come to my mind,

Benjamin Linus - Lost
Joffrey Baratheon - Game Of Thrones
Tony Montana - Scarface
Hannibal Lector - Silence of The Lambs
Rodger Kint - Usual Suspects
Tony Manero - Saturday Night Fever
Dr Evil - Austin Powers

General discussion / Wifi Adaptor // Sky Broadband
August 24, 2018, 09:24:58 AM
Morning Gents,

Hoping the more technical men of this board can help solve a slight problem.

Got sky broadband in, engineer at the house, 3 green lights - all great.....except the PC doesn't actually have wifi capability (....I know....) I only ever used an ethernet connection prior.

Need to get an adaptor, any recommendations? PC is fairly old, windows 7. The modem sits on the stairs, the PC will be upstairs - talking maybe 5 metres around the staircase through a door to the actual PC. It's not used for gaming or anything too stressful, the odd sneaky stream and general browsing but looking something simple.

General discussion / Israel Folau
April 10, 2018, 02:54:39 PM
Outstanding athlete, outstanding rugby player.

But, this thread is about the man and his views.

Everyone has the right to their views, rightly so, Folau views on gay marriage / gay people due to religious beliefs have caused more than some trouble on a number of occasions now.

Is there a place for this in the modern world? Qantas are furious but Australian Rugby has essentially given him a slap on the wrist.

Australia has just legalised same sex marriage - David Pocock has and is a major public figure in that campaign. An interesting side note when they meet up for Wallaby duty.

Started the thread really to see what people thought of Folau's actions and, maybe, a welcome change from the rugby troubles at home that have been much publicised.

GAA Discussion / Bernard Brogan - Serious Injury?
February 12, 2018, 11:03:57 AM
Reports coming through that Bernard has been seriously injured with the dreaded cruciate.

Sincerely hope this injury is A) not true B) this is not the end at intercounty level for a genuine true great of modern times, probably even all time.

Can anyone confirm?

Ciaran Sheehan has been released by Carlton, assuming he comes back to Ireland - this guy was some player when he left, could he be the shot in the arm Cork Football needs?
