Anchibe (think that's how it's spelt) as well, I remember seeing him at St Andrews three or four years back and thinking if that Fcuker put a bit more effort in he'd be some handful. He proved it today.

And what an era it was. 11 years... No trophies.

Ah, in fairness they did finish 4th in 2005! Villarreal put paid to the group stages of the Champions League!

Hardest team in the draw then and also screwed over by that bald Italian referee who disallowed a perfectly good Dunc header to take it to extra time, or maybe even the win on away goals as it was in Spain.

He is ten times the manager you lot have had in say the last three bucks ye have had in charge.

Moyes develops players, he buys cheap and sells for profit, Everton have a tenth of the resources Liverpool have and yet they have been highly successful in staying competitive in the top flight, Liverpool are all over the shop, have spent very badly for the most part and continue to struggle to finish in the top six let along the top four.

Are you going to reply to every post I make?
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

Ah, it's all relative. If you have money it's hard to bring players through as the Big Club fans need a fast fix. (Big) Clubs with lesser money can often get more time to develop players. Continuation is a big thing also at a club. No chopping and changing of Managers means year in year out the players are the Managers players. The hardest thing Moyes has had is to have consistent good seasons. He can put in a good season, but the following is usually horrible. A bit like Newcastle this season after last season. He's done a good job, but in regards silverware or final appearances his reign has been disappointing.

From F365 the Everton wage bill is £58m, £77m less than Liverpools and on a par with West Ham, Fulham and the likes, even Aston Villa have a larger wage bill.

The best players are attracted to big wages as much as CL football, obviously there's a direct correlation to that, but if you consider the wages Everton pay and what type of footballer they can attract because of this then Moyes is doing a pretty good job.

It's progress for Everton when you're disappointed they could only draw with Arsenal at the Emirates.

Coleman is progressing nicely, he and Baines give Everton most of their attacking threat at the minute.

Someone is filling in their CV to become the next Everton manager, history suggests they have a great chance:

He bought players on the cheap and sold them on for profit, his city rival bought players that were worth a tenth of what they paid for them.

He stabilized the club and helped them become a team that regularly vies for a top six spot.

He did not sign Andrew Carroll.

He has had no racist biters on his team, his players are not known to gnaw on opponents.

He has his team 5 points ahead of his city rivals, and that on a shoestring budget.

he is deemed good enough to leave and go to the perrenial Champions to head them up, the king got whacked by his city rivals because he was a shite manager and a pr nightmare, oh yeah, he paid big money for duds and cost the club millions, Moyes has Everton in the black.  :)

Good luck to Moyes  at Man Utd , he stabilised us into a top 8 club with feck all money from the debt ridden perenial relgation favourites we were in 2002. I am glad in a way he got the chance to move on because without some major investment I don't think he could take Everton any further. Winning no trophies is a bit of a mark against him but he did come close in the FA cup and qualifying for the champions league and Europa leagues is nothing to sniff at where Eveton came form unless you are a Liverpool supporter with the luck of residing in the imaginary land of "next year is our year in the league"! ;D
I have seen O' Neil , Lennon and Martinez mentioned but I would prefer somebody like Laudrup or Chris Hughton to take over. Whoever gets the job will have a tough time with Baines and Fellani more than likely gone plus the new fair play rules meaning the wage bill will have to be cut to match direct income next season. Also finishing above the pool will be a must for most Everton fans ( throw in West Brom , Swansea , Southampton and Villa fans to that list as well) because it would be a blow to fall behind a team guided by David Brent with an attack spear headed by a Man City/Chelsea reject in Sturridge and the 9 million man made of glass Borini! ;) even if all we hear is "next year is their year" in the league ::)

"Through Adversity to the Stars" to quote Brendan Rogers aka football's David Brent.

disappointed but not gutted that moyes is leaving. he done a good job at everton with very little money and turned us from a bottom 6 side to a regular top 6 side. think moyes had realised he had taken everton as far he could and things had gone a bit stale at goodison.

my preference for the new manager would be Michael laudrup. not neil lennon or mark hughes and definetly not phil Neville.

cant believe moyes is being allowed to stay on for the last 2 games. his time is over time to move on.
