Jez what a shams...I see Conor Mortimer coming out saying there are loads of lads who would love the chance even to play a one off game for the county.. whatever way you look at it, a mockery has been made of this competition

RTE: "Carlow subsequently withdrew due to "sickness, injuries and Sigerson Cup commitments."

So if you go to the doctor and you don't feel like working, choose one of
1. Sickness,
2. Injuries and
3. Sigerson Cup commitments.

It's a farce
Reading the Offaly statement, why didn't Louth agree to the offer to play the match on another date?
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

There no excuse for a county with maybe 12-16 senior teams not fielding at this level. Dublin put out a u-20 team. I always thought it more beneficial to have player playing uni, late stages of club fball, u20, on top of your current senior player base to give you a bigger selection, later in the year for strength in depth.

It'll be the last year the current structure is used.

Leinster GAA will have to look at changing the format of the O'Byrne Cup next year, according to provincial chief executive Michael Reynolds. He was speaking after a third of the fixtures scheduled for midweek, was cancelled on Thursday.

Well done Longford, Gaelic football World Champions once again.

After the match we all agreed that:

(i) Promotion to Div 2 was assured.
(ii) There was a clear part to the Leinster final.
(iii) While a tilt at Sam may be just be a little beyond us, we would certainly be there-and-there abouts

By the time these were nailed down, the nice polite boys and girls in the white coats were ready for us.
