Utd ( for what I see) were dire! The standard is rotten! One team has stood above the rest, the rest have been well below. Has there been a worse championship?

No! It's just you are looking from a United fan Perspective and Liverpool are incredibly good at the moment.

United had a competent Manager 18 months ago. They were winning (secondary) Cup Competitions and easily qualifying for CL football finishing 2nd! The board did not back Mourinho with transfers to move onto the next level that summer. So Mourinho sat on his hands and waited to be sacked.

Mourinho was backed but brought in too many duds to be given more funds.

Eh? Liverpool are a stand alone team this year as the other teams have failed to produce any form from last season. Jose was Utds best manager since Fergie, I've said numerous times he should have had job directly after Ferguson left
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Please stop......

Seanie will be on next and we'll be bogged down in a Mourinhofest for the week  ;D. He wasn't the problem but ultimately not the solution either so why waste any more time talking about him? Ultimately Ole isn't the solution either but curiously is doing a passable job as the deadwood finally seems to keeping chopped away ..

The cynic in me thinks the club are using him to do exactly that leaving the next man with a better starting point.

Your right. Ole isnt the solution and has got rid of alot of the dead wood. Bar lingard and pogba. But United have failed to win 21 of their last 30 league games and that's the bottom line. Ole shouldn't be in a job now never mind get the rest of the season. But he will see the end the season. But Utd cant start in August with him in charge.  Pereria and James keep getting game time yet do nothing. James is a squad player offers pace with 15 mins to go but thats about it. Martial has been non existent sinve rasher got injured.

United are never getting top 4.

Nor top 7.

I wouldn't bet a lot of money on Utd finishing top 4, they could finish anywhere down to about 9th but let's be honest none of the  contenders are up to much are they. Chelsea weren't able to bring anyone in much to the annoyance of Lampard. Spurs got nobody in to replace Kane, they were in the market for ighalo too.

what Utd will have is freshness with Pogba and McTominey to come in plus two new signings so you never know....

That's exactly it. Who would you bet on.
Very strange season. Fight for Top 4 as bad as you could get. Southampton were fighting relegation at Xmas. Snapping at Utd's heels before yesterday.

OGS happy to have held Wolves scoreless. That's something like Sam Allardyce would have come out with.

My, how the mighty have fallen.

Cunny Funt

Three games in short period of time that United held Wolves scoreless, seriously though United haven't been able to beat Wolves in the league since they got promotion and that includes a few tries under Jose.  Maguire,Fred and on his debut Bruno Fernandes played well. It was like playing with 10 men with Pereira in the side. James and Martial very poor also.

A bit of break now and remains to be seen if McTominay and Pogba return from injury. The loss of Rahford is hitting home now and the mad rush on deadline day to bring in a replacement for him just highlighted how poorly run the club are nowadays. Ighalo should at least get plenty of game time to show what he can do he was decent the last time he was in the PL but that was 3 years ago.

Look-Up!

Ighalo could be ok but think last time he had form in PL he was a bit of a novelty but teams sussed him out in the end and his form dropped off. But if he can hold onto the ball a bit and not lose it with terrible passes and actually bring others into attack then mightn't be a total waste. Goals tally not the be all and end all if he contributes elsewhere.
Fernandes could be a player. McTominay and Pogba could have big parts to play in season yet. Maybe some of the others find form. They're still in the hunt. But Spurs had a good win and will fancy catching Chelsea now.

Ah they'll do rightly - probably even go ahead of Chelsea at some stage....but sure then the heat will go on and they'll melt again.

They definitely melt if there's any possibility of landing a trophy but I don't think getting into the top 4 will be much of a stress for them. They're well used to it by now.
