Had to  laugh when that Vogue one appeared,  given that @hereiam mentioned her  last week.  What is  she actually famous for?  Is she Ireland's answer to the  Kardashians or what?

Looks like it's  still going to be  the same old  faces from the rte canteen . Rosenstock will no doubt be wheeled out any week  now.  Brendan o Carroll is never  off it either.

Actually I switched off when I heard "the two Johnnies"

When the LLS was compelling in say the 80s, the viewing public was very different. They believed that les Francais adorent le Piat D'Or. The French love Piat D'or. Now it's all Chardonnay and Argentinian or Australian red.

I remember one time they had a hypnotist on and the crowd went bananas. It was easier to entertain everyone.
Brigid and Eamonn mined a very rich load by taking the piss out of the parents of the previous generation .

There are still people who love listening to Vogue Williams but it's  not the whole audience any more. Even 2 FMs audience is splintered. They used to be able to play the same playlist all day.

There are things that would transcedne the usual and bring people together and not all are celebrity . There are still a lot of things that we don't  talk about like why are house prices so high and the unification and the short season and  misogyny and the Christian Brothers and GAA coaching and what happened to MAn Utd and the Leaving Cert. They probably need to pivot a bit.

Have give it 2 weeks and that's me done with it, wont be going out of my way to sit down and watch it. Same old shite with an odd joke threw in by PK here and there. The 3 guests out at the same time is just not working as the conversation is just not flowing well enough and there are too many awkward pauses.  The whole desk and staging just doesn't work either.

How many of Dermot Bannon,Mario Rosenstock,Oliver Callan,Jason Byrne have been on the latest shows? they seemed to be hand picked guests by RTE with the last presenter.

Yeah that is strange.  Guests sitting sideways on  their chairs and PK  sitting uncomfortably  like the headmaster.

Set up for TV cameras , but just looks and probably feels uncomfortable,   You're not going to get the best out of your guests while they  aren't sitting right or looking st the presenter

Main Street

Patrick's chair is a fair bit higher than the guest's, enhanced stature syndrome? I'd say it's a toss up whether he'd be better or worse than the bould Daniel as host.

johnnycool

Too many guests and not enough time to really delve into anything other than the book or TV show they're promoting.

Kielty touched on the cervical smear controversy but Holohan chose to ignore it and talk about Covid, a very softball interview dictated by the guest, he'll need to get better at that.

He did mention that many people had restricted funerals due to policies from his office but he didn't pursue it. It's a tough one as people would equally be going nuts if gave him a proper grilling when he was on to talk about his wife dying from cancer. It's not a Turbridy or Kielty issue - the LLS tries to be light entertainment and going deep into personal and social stories. It's an editorial policy which I'm not sure they're as successful with as often as they'd like.

Applesisapples

I want to see Conor Moore on with Lowry and McIlroy, with Conor taking the piss out of them and Paddy.

Getting big guests on an Irish chat show is going to be tricky. Even big Irish stars don't really want to do them unless they're promoting something.
