To all the posters asking why Fergal Boland wasn't in the Mayo football squad tonight, I hope you were watching the Intermediate Hurling final in Croke Park just now. Fergal played a blinder. What a sportsman he is. Hard luck Tooreen. You did Mayo proud
Fergal was dropped from the football panel along with onor o shea and Darrren coen.
any word yet on tickets for Friday?
Probably tomorrow or Wednesday afternoon on sale, would want to be quick as the 1,200 tickets will be sold out in a matter of minutes.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Up to 7 or 8,000 would turn up if played in Hyde or McHale on Sunday.

Roscommon have been shocking in this game.  Indoors so can't blame wind or rain

Rudi

Really poor game, Mayo putting 15 behind the ball not helping. Roscommon as always utterly clueless as to how to beat the blanket. Both teams happy to just hold onto the ball. Referee poor also, phantom black card, straight forward free missed on Stack just before, Mayos McStay gets a yellow for nothing.
Both teams thinking about next week. Great turn by McDonagh, who looks sharp for goal chance.

Mayo haven't been much better to be honest. Only score from play after a few seconds. Its a very cagey affair with both not willing to take any risks almost minding themselves for the more serious stuff next weekend.  Mayo 0-5 Roscommon 0-2 at half time.

You'll never see that #11 again. Ref far too fussy

Tubberman

Brutal game, and a ref of the same standard.

Rudi

How many wides in perfect conditions from Roscommon.

Rudi

Donie Smith with 2 lovely scores.

Blowitupref

Mayo 0-13 to 0-9 winners only slightly better on their shooting. A contest that won't live long in the memory.

Only 0-4 from play from the 12 starting forwards. Sums up the type of contest it was. Didn't think it was possible to have a low scoring match indoors so perhaps there was shadow boxing going on between the two.

rodney trotter

Roscommon done some amount of slow hand passing even when they to go for it at the end. Mark McHugh is coach whether that is coming from him.
