Is that not the point of having a split season - by July only a couple of county teams will still be playing
Surely club football can easily run from June to October
Even getting the best of weather conditions etc

Nearly every other county has started their leagues and Tyrone clubs will be playing right up to December again this year.

All the other counties are playing away but without county players. Tyrone clubs are not prepared to do this - that is the main crux of the problem.

Yeah it is. And if that's how it's going to be that's grand. Just say that early in the year so club teams know when the league is actually going to start and can plan accordingly. But atm everything is in limbo which is unfair on the clubs.

Division 3 fixtures are out anyway. Well the first round date is 5th May no other dates announced after that but I assume they'll just play away week on week.

3 weeks tomorrow night to proposed start of the league. Is anyone hearing whether Div 1 & 2 are actually going to start on that date? Is it the whole Greencastle thing holding it up? Or a combination of it and Tyrone panel not being finalised?

Highly unlikely the league will be starting in 3 weeks. Probably 6 weeks at this rate (27-29th May).

Tyrone U20 play in Ulster Final on 22nd April. I think the AI Semi final (if they get there) is 2 weeks later and the final a further two weeks (if they get there)
Hopefully it's end of May before we have to bother with Club football

I would rather than 90+% of footballers in the county for the go ahead to start playing the game they train for as soon as possible.

So just to be clear, you want our county teams to be unsuccessful.

Given the format for division 1 and 2 and the county season there is absolutely no need for these club v county fixture debates to be happening. It should have been communicated to clubs early in the year that the season was starting late May and they could then plan training accordingly (there is no reason to be out early January any more). End of May would have allowed for the u20's to be wrapped up and still allow for the 5 starred games to be played before Tyrone seniors finish up. If you start early May and Tyrone get on a run then the starred games will run out and club footballers will again be left waiting about between games.

There is also no reason for the fixtures not to be out for the rest of the year. County season ends the 24th July. Starred games should have run from late May up to 12th holidays and then a 2/3 week break. Then the ten league games run of by the end of September with championship following. No need for any December finishes this year. The way the season is set up everything at club senior level should run much smoother than the past.

People need to adjust to the new club season which should last 6 months (late May to middle November). There is no reason now why club players can't have a full 3 months of at the end of season. That still allows for a 3 month pre season including friendlies. They may going forward change it to 22 league games (with 11 starred matches) - this would then pull the season forward to late April. Biggest danger with that is once again losing fringe county players who can't play in 11 matches.

No change to league structures next year apparently. Status quo.

Exactly this. But why with 3 weeks left before it's supposed to start have they not just come to realise that this would be best case scenario all round? Even looking at the county schedule at senior and u20 level they should have been able to forecast that end of May was best bet in first place. Add in whatever is going on with the Greencastle thing (anyone actually know what story is regarding that now or if it's been to Croke Park yet?) and surely the most sensible option is to email clubs and say league starts either 20th or 27th May with fixtures to follow on x date. At least everyone will know where they stand.
