Quote from: bennydorano on April 22, 2025, 09:51:59 AMHaven't watched S2 episode 2 yet but I've been enduring Last of US to date, one of those shows I'm reading the reviews and mystified as to what I'm missing, it's shite. Reminds of that dung that was on Sky - Fortitude, won awards, great reviews - just awful.

I get what you are saying as season 1 was average at best.

The second one he must be referring to, as the first one was crap. Just seems to be another version of the Walking Dead. But that second episode was brilliant.

Quote from: maldini on April 16, 2025, 10:31:49 PMOne of his many silly arguments in this podcast was why should it matter to anyone McIlroy or any golfer winning a tournament

Then went on to pontificate about Marvin Hagler fights 50 years ago and the LA Lakers.
Should those matter to anyone?

Aye, what does the golf the other night matter to us? Then goes on about some boy Jerry West who played basketball in the US, which must be extremely relevant.

The UK's highest court has ruled that the definition of a "woman" in equality legislation refers to someone who is born biologically female, in a blow to campaigners for the rights of transgender people. The Supreme Court found in a unanimous decision that the meaning of "woman" in anti-discrimination law did not extend to a trans woman with a gender recognition certificate.

Mad the effort required to declare a judgement that has been a fact for thousands of years.

Rashford has been a joke for the majority of the past few years. He hasn't exactly been setting the world alight at Villa either.

Quote from: flowerpot on April 15, 2025, 04:37:34 PM3. Ref moving in frees and folk opting for 2 pointers.

This one I really dislike. I don't mind the ref moving it up, that's fair, but that should be it. The player should not be allowed to go for 2

I agree with that too, but I suppose what's stopping a player from intentionally not giving the ball over, or slabbering, to get a free outside the arc moved inside the arc. In that instance, you would obviously want to be able to take ut from where you originally were supposed to.

New Black Mirror not as good as I hoped.

Surreal achievement, especially given the pressure going for the grand slam and not having won a major in over a decade, as well as the demons from 2011.  Hopefully this enables him to add more to his tally in the coming years.

I thought it was brilliant!! Mildly believable and then plunging into darkness. Great cast too.

Looking forward to the next few.

Read an interview with the creator yesterday - given the rapidly expanding shit show that is our world, he thinks there is no end in sight for the series.

First I heard of a new season of Black Mirror, unreal news!

Halfway through This City is Ours - brilliant so far.

Crazy, not even a day in jail for murdering a newborn. I didn't know you could be diagnosed as having a mental health condition nearly 30 years after the time in question. Does being depressed mean it's OK to kill?

Yeah this doesn't sit well

"Showed genuine remorse" ah that's ok then...

Murder is notoriously difficult to prove. In this case a plea to a lesser charge of manslaughter was accepted.

Manslaughter sentences are wild but largely in keeping with what Parliament has suggested they should be.

Parliament need to sort this out if it's too lenient.

Depends on the case. Different jurisdictions, but when you compare this case to the Tristan Sherry murder trial, where there were convictions for murder when it seemed it was manslaughter or nothing.

Quote from: imtommygunn on April 01, 2025, 04:21:01 PMWatching the latest gangs of London. Some pretty rough scenes in it!

I tried to watch recaps of season 1 and 2 but it was a nightmare trying to figure out the relationships etc. Bulled on anyway and thought it was OK.
