Stokes was a wayward youngster when he last played in England
He has by his own admission, and Lennons, knuckled down and improved drastically this past few seasons. Always had the talent, just didnt work hard enough

I dont think he has any chance of going to the euros, he had his chance and didnt bother turning up, Cox did turn up and impressed. Ability wise however i dont think theres much between him, Best and Cox, Stokes could turn out far better than the other two if he keeps improving.

People think if you score a goal in the english premier league all of a sudden your a superstar and must start in the Ireland team

I agree, but Trap doesn't take club form into consideration at all it seems

Long and Walters have had brilliant seasons so far

a.k.a a dirty bastard

yes was a truly great player, but was almost as dirty a player as Keane in my opinion. Part of the reason he isnt seen in the same bracket is cos of the chuckling done by commentators everytime he committed an x rated tackle

showed a tackle there on Match of the Day by 'Scholesy'

studs up hack around a Bolton players stomach. Not even a booking. the 2 pundits laughed and joked about it, as has happened throughout his career, at most wild tackles

Wonder would Sir Purple Nose have seen that as a red? afterall one of the reasons Kompany had to go he said is cos he's prone to that kind of tackle.

Winters been coming out with this kind of vitriol for years on his site and blog. Should have been sacked from Sky Sports years ago the filthy bigot

yeah he's inconsistent and frustrating, but in this campaign he was one of the better players, involved in either scoring or setting up numerous goals and was our best attacking threat in my opinion, his defensive play and discipline also improved
he has improved since leaving Celtic

so Traps going to drop one of Irelands top 3 performers from the qualifying campaign (mcgeady) for a rookie whos made 5 top level appearances?

would be very surprised if any uncapped players made the squad

all this talk of the refs performance yesterday, i actually thought Rooney refereed it quite well

i've seen a lot worse banners to be fair, where the same song and dance wasnt made

a racist one in Russia aimed at Odemwingie that had bananas on it when he left the Moscow team, one at Elland road from Man U fans that was glorifying the istanbul murders - those 2 just off the top of my head

was a stupid thing to do all the same, and was always going to be highlighted by the scottish media.

Lennon should look a bit closer to home though when talking about disgracing the club

Screen Exile, i'm not a United fan either, but to come on here and say their team is finished and their season is almost a write off is crazy
It happens every year people writing them off in Autumn, and in May they're champions again

Screen exile wise yourself up
we hear this every year in November/December

i would still make United slight favourites for the title to be honest

United are in desperate need of two quality central midfield players.

Park - high work rate but isn't really top class, isn't a playmaker or overly talented
Giggs - has been Utds best player in this area in last 2 or 3 seasons, and that says it all really
Fletcher - was very good 2 years ago, has had injury problems since then, would probably do a job beside a decent playmaker
Anderson - not good enough
Carrick - not good enough
Gibson - not good enough
Cleverley - the great white hope, the new Scholesy. We'll see but i have my doubts

Scholes was never adequately replaced, about 4 years ago when his legs went. They have got by with quick fixes like Carrick, Anderson etc due to other players carrying the team and the spirit and will to win Fergie has instilled, but in this particular area they have been woefully short in recent years compared to the other top sides around Europe

A tragic story and will be greatly missed

i watched the video on youtube of him on football focus on saturday, and came across this photo online which was a photo with a fan taken on Saturday afternoon. Maybe its just me and this is hindsight talking but i think theres something different in how he looked normally and how he's looking in both the photo and on football focus, something different in his eyes, hard to explain

Poor fella, RIP
