Raya definitely took the goal kick when he heard the refs whistle and not passing it across for Gabriel to take it.

It would have been funny had it been given just for the Arsenal meltdown over it.

Just with that goal kick incident - what is the thinking behind Gabriel taking it and passing it to Raya as oppossed to the goalkeeper just doing the same? Obviously its some nuanced coaching brilliance that a mere mortal like me doesn't understand. I see United doing the same thing too.

Perhaps a mix of trials and actual performances would be a better system to pick the team. Omagh are back to back MacRory and Hogan Cup winners and have had 1 all star in the last 2 years. Daly and McCullagh missing out on all stars shows the current system doesn't work.

I will add I don't understand the too many games argument either. So what if a county team plays 6 games in 6 weekends or whatever, wouldn't this be standard at club level? It's not like teams are being asked to play multiple games a week. Is 1 game a week over a few months too much?

I agree with this. For example Tyrone if they were to make the All Ireland final via winning Ulster (I know I know highly unlikely but not impossible) they would play 9 matches in 15 weeks from 21st April to 28th July. Is that excessive? They played 8 matches in the same number of weeks in the old system in 2008 though I appreciate they would have had a longer break between league and championship but would have been playing club football in that break.

Every post match GAA interview must begin with 'sure lookit'.

For GAA pundits, it's deemed essential to insert terms such as pockets of space, backdoor cut, game time, transition in order to appear more sophisticated.   

And for the administrators the use of the term stakeholder is an absolute must.   

I thought the 'lookit' was always a Malachy O'Rourke/Monaghan players thing.

Yeah Dublin at full strength apart from Cluxton, Fitzsimons, John Small, Gannon, McCarthy, Paddy Small, Costello, McCaffrey, Bulger and Mannion only got the last 20 minutes.

Apart from Morgan and a bit of credit for R Canavan for plugging away despite hitting a right few wides, no one came out of that looking well today. A few probably played their last bit of football for the year for Tyrone.

Don't forget  that on many occasions such as Antrim Club games or home national league games the stadium will run at a loss. I read some where that Croke Park needs to sell C. 60,000 tickets to break even.

Living the dream 4-0 down after 25 minutes - really? Yeah I think you're right that's an evening they'll tell the grandkids they were there. And probably tell them about the last home game - a 5-0 defeat by Brighton. Or maybe the home game before that - a 5-0 defeat by Villa.

I'm not saying there's no point I'm just saying being in the Premier League isn' t the be all and end all that Sky like to protray for football fans. Its not that controversial a take to be honest.

So will Beggan be back for the last few rounds of the league? From reading a few things this morning - the Irish lads aren't going to neccessarily find out their fate in the NFL in the next week or two.
