While it's lamentable that hurling is at such a low ebb in the town surely tat's an opportunity for the likes of Clonad to get in younglads from the town who want to hurl.
Does it help your club at all?

What do you think of the starting team for tomorrow against Tipp?

Paddy Purcell on the bench. Is he carrying a knock?

Good to get the win especially away from home but has been said we started well to the league last year as well.

Have to follow it up with another win to really get momentum.

Great to see Willie Dunphy being named captain. Always gives 100% for Laois.

Not involved in it but happy to give a few bob to them. They seem to be involved with support for underage teams etc.

There's always room for a supporters club within a county.

Just looking at some of the PP schools results from last week and Mountrath CS were beaten by 13 points by Naas CBS in B quarter final. Hurling in Naas is powering on.
Heywood unlucky to be beaten by a point after extra time by Castlecomer CS.

Offaly schools hurling in the A quarter final.

I thought one of Ross's great performance was the second half against Dublin in that soul destroying Leinster final in 2005.

He dragged us bag into it like a man possessed and scored some great points.

Navan was his day alright and we got through but I thought he was something else that second half against the Dubs.

All things considered it was a good run out,

Maher will learn more from the defeat that a big victory. He got a good look at players under pressure and he has used a lot of lads over the 3 games.

Hopefully we don't get any big beatings in the league and take some form into the Joe McDonagh. That's the time to be beating Offaly.

Decent run out against the Cats in fairness.

Good score to put up against them.

A win is a win and nothing brings confidence like winning.

A season opener or not it's not often we get the better of the likes of Wexford these days so fair play.

Maher is a good manager and if he can have a similar affect to Eddie Brennan then we will hopefully have a good year.
