Quote from: Saffrongael on July 24, 2024, 10:43:23 AMJunior & Intermediate championships starting this weekend, why are there no fixtures in the "upcoming fixtures" section of the Antrim website ?

Going by the football thread I'd say it's cause we've only 5 referees lol.

Is there anywhere else ya can see the fixtures? Take it they are just fri and sat won't be any on Sunday with the football final on?

The "master" championship spreadsheet is there on the website but it's a pain in the hole looking at on a phone. Just strange they aren't on the usual fixtures section so close to the games

I can't even find the master one.

Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

just looking through those fixtures for hurling championships and a couple of things jump out. Ardoyne won JHC last year and are playing it again this year - why? in my opinion they should be forced to play IHC. And its a joke that Creggan, last years IHC winners aren't playing SHC.

County is weak as piss in not forcing these teams to play up - in ardoyne's case, whats the point in winning and not pushing on the following year and in crggan's case whats the point in winning and then playing no championship at all the following year.

Did ardoyne win JHC or JHC B?

On the Junior B. Is there one? Dont see any fixtures on that spreadsheet

i love a good rant whether i'm right or wrong - leave me alone.

but thanks for pointinhg that out - i hadnt realised it was a JHCb Ardoyne won.

Point still valid on Creggan though! they've given 3 teams the easiest run in championship since st galls were gifted a county final 10 years ago

Teams in that group all get through now yes. Creggan wouldnt put a dent on any of them anyway so im not sure how they couldve made this harder for any of them teams. Senior championship doesnt start until semi final stage anyway.

Gael-in-exile

The group of 3 in SHC may get to do a bit of shadow boxing before the qf's but surely the other group will require all teams to be fully focussed in group games to avoid being knocked out before that stage

Davy Fitz and Anthony Nash to take over the senior hurlers for the upcoming season? Has anyone else heard this? Would be a great appointment.
