There has to be somewhere in the middle.

The kids need a senior team to inspire them, but they also need a professional set up around them to help them progress. While it has improved in recent years it is still a long way off from where it should be.

Interesting times ahead....

I wonder who his backroom team will be?

Slemishgael

It's official. Great appointment.

No names mentioned, as far as I can see.

Well we know who has been touted as his right hand man, but its outside of that, which local men/ coaches would be brought into the set up that will be the intriguing part for me any way.

Is it not strange to announce this without saying who his 'selectors' are?

Seems a bit rushed.  Unless it's a boost when the senior championship is throwing in?

I would imagine it seems a bit rushed as I would say Davy did his due diligence elsewhere before taking this.
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

Gael-in-exile

Who is the possible right hand man? Nash? I seen somewhere online that was now unlikely.

Saffrongael

He said today in some article there will be one from outside the county and at least two from inside it as part of his team

I'd assume Davy will be adding to the panel from a range of clubs witin the county soon. Any thoughts on who could be added to the panel whoes not already on board? I read today that he said ""I'll look at everything

With me, skill is important, that's for sure, but there has to be more than that.

There has to be that absolute fight, that determination, that desire to never give up on the cause.

"There's a lot of characteristics that I'll be looking for. I can't say for sure whether I'll get something different but we'll look and explore."

I think we've players at senior intermediate and junior level who could be unearthed who could add to the team without doubt.

Top 3 team in leinster qualifying for knockout hurling and being competitive outside corrigan in the league would be brilliant. No doubt fitz will be up soon to watch a few championship games!! A few lads hoping to impress

Two Hands FFS

Unfortunately I can't think of many players who haven't been there under Gleeson who could step up??

Slemishgael

Ciaran Neeson who transferred to Cushendall? Could be a worthwhile addition? Noticed he's been doing well since his switch in league and championship.

Randalstown Creggan Glenariff Ahoghill Cushendun Carey Glenarm Glenravel Armoy... surely there's a player or two from these clubs who have the potential to go forward? Even in the likes of dunloy loughgiel ballycastle Rossa etc is there not others who have the potential to go forward? Sorry I don't know names! Just genuinely curious. We often hear about how great antrim club hurling is. Or at least I do.
