Shelvey bumped into him from behind off the ball. I just saw it the once. Looked to me like it was deliberate on Shelvey's part just to annoy Mario, but there wasnt a whole heap of contact. Mario crumpled to the ground as if poleaxed. Play continued as Liverpool attacked down the wing with Mario lying prone on the edge of the box. Eventally he realised he was being ignored so he got back up and joined in again.

From then on they were gesticulating at each other, and squared up to each other at the final whistle, but there was no more contact.

Give him an extension alright but slash his wages. Hes nowhere near the player he used to be and shouldnt be afforded the same renumeration. He has his money made at this point, would be interesting to see if he would accept it.

Alternatively let him find another club with an open offer of a job when hes finished playing.

Surely this is Stevie Me just sabre rattling for a contract extension and see where the cards fall in terms of the club wanting to offer him and the fans wanting him to stay.

He knows he could still get a massive contract in MLS or somewhere like that.

Was merely a general comment on Stevies situation wasnt getting at anything other than that.

Id prefer them to hold onto him and keep playing him but I dont think that BR is as massive a fan as some others, may be wrong.
