General discussion / Mountain Biking
January 08, 2020, 12:40:32 PM
Sorry if there is already a thread open on this!

Any keen mountain bikers out there who would recommend a decent, strong mountain bike for a relative beginner? One that could be used on roads, forest trails etc.? Even something maybe that I could pick up second hand to get started properly.

Had a bike from Halfords but it's not strong or sturdy enough to stand up to heavy landings after jumps. Thanks in advance.

GAA Discussion / GAA Injury Claim Forms
November 03, 2014, 07:26:10 PM
Apologies if there is already a thread on this.

I am looking to know if a GAA Injury Claim Form will be accepted when the injury has occurred in an official match but there is no note of it in the referees report. I have ticked the injury Occurred Section as Official Match, but am looking at Section F which says for club and county secretary declarations "as recorded in the attached Refereees Report."
The injury happened during a league game but I was able to complete the match, thinking it fairly innocuous, but the results of it have done some long term damage which according to physio and doctor can only be rectified by surgery.

If anyone can clarify the situation I would be greatful. Time is an issue due to the 60 day deadline. Thanks.

Over the past 3 or 4 weeks our home phone landline has been bombarded with phone calls for telemarketing companies and automated phone calls ranging from "clear your debt" to "you have won a holiday" or "have you had an accident."
Its got to the stage now where id say that 3, out of every 4 times the phone rings are these types of call, you know the ones you hang up immediately, only to pick up the receiver and here them still yappin on!
This mornin was the final straw when one of these calls woke everyone in the house at 7.30.  Worst thing is the oul dolls aunt is sick in hospital & every time the phone rings she fears the worst.

Does anyone know of anything that can be done to either stop or block these calls?
Any help appreciated.

ps
I dont want to go exdirectory

GAA Discussion / 7 a side football
June 02, 2008, 11:53:59 AM
Was wondering if any of you have experience of taking a 7 a side team, or watching good 7 a side football, whats the best way of approaching it tactically.  Is it playing 1-2-2-2 & sticking to positions or would playing most of the team behind the ball & building out with support play be more beneficial - if its this then would hand passing be the best option?
