GAA Discussion / Humble Bernard Brogan
October 09, 2015, 08:41:01 PM
In an interview, Bernard Brogan claims that he did not expect that he would be nominated for the Footballer of the Year awards.

"Five years after I won one ... I probably didn't think I'd be back at that level again."

Will this humility brings him to the victory? What ya guys think?  ;)

GAA Discussion / Re: Search for New Mayo Manager
October 09, 2015, 08:10:05 PM
If McStay is gonna get the post, he'll gonna insist once again to put McHale alongside him. If I were to remember, McStay said last year that Mayo need a McHale than a McStay. Haha so.... history repeats itself. I just hope that a decision is being made now.  ;)

The longest serving member of the Wexford Senior hurling squad Rory Jacob, 31, decides to quit the game at inter-county level.

"Today (Wednesday) I would like to announce my retirement from inter-county hurling. It has been a hugely difficult decision to come to but I feel now is the time to finish up.

I am really going to miss playing with Wexford. I enjoyed every bit of it. Playing at the highest level has been exciting, rewarding and challenging."

Who deserves to be named as GAA/GPA Footballer of the Year??

- Jack McCaffrey
- Bernard Brogan
- Philly Brogan

Getting their names right would be a start.

Oops. My bad! Too excited to post, though. It has been amended now. Thanks for pointing it out, bud.

Hurling Discussion / That's it for Rory Jacob
October 01, 2015, 08:31:46 PM
Wexford forward Rory Jacob retires from inter-county hurling after 14 seasons with the Yellowbellies.

This is Jacob's official statement through the GPA:

"This decision has not been made overnight and is not an easy one to make but time away from home and family, the strain of training and matches on my body, the ever increasing amount of hours needed to prepare properly and the fact that my game time has decreased have all played a major role in my decision."
