According to the former Irish rugby team doctor, Dr. Eanna Falvey, many GAA players are ignoring medical advice and choosing what they think is the fastest way of recovering which is hip surgery, instead of longer-term rehabilitation, so that they can return to the field and play as soon as possible.

"I am not interested in next year, I'm interested in now."

This is the attitude of many players as per Dr. Falvey.

It is very much apparent that Kilkenny have dominated Waterford in their past fixtures. But do you guys think Waterford can still redeem their glory later? 

Cork hurler Patrick Horgan says that players need to be mentally tough and savvy to survive social media abuse. Hence, ignore trolls and all that.

Actually, social media is a very powerful influencer to everyone. It becomes an avenue to cyberbully players and other known personalities. Aside from players ignoring trolls, we, users of social media, should also be responsible to what we post. They deserve our respect. And through that respect, maybe that will be the cause of the victories of our favourite teams. You know, positive vibes attract good fortune! 

Brendan Maher has been confirmed as Tipperary senior hurling captain for a third successive season.

According to reports, two time All-Ireland winner Eamonn Burns has been appointed as the new Down boss.


"Eamonn Burns will undoubtedly bring the same degree of commitment and passion to the job as manager as he did when he was a player and we all wish him well", says County Chairman Sean Rooney.

The GAA have confirmed that Dublin's Bernard Brogan will captain the EirGrid Ireland International Rules team in the upcoming series against Australia at Croke Park on 21 November.
The 2015 All-Ireland medal winner and former player of the year has been named by team manager Joe Kernan as the skipper ahead of a wider panel announcement early next month.
Brogan, whose brother Alan has also represented Ireland, replaces Michael Murphy, who led the Ireland challenge in last year's narrow defeat to Australia in Perth and in the home series win the previous year.

Brogan said: "It is both an honour and a privilege to not only represent Ireland, but to captain the national team too.

"As Gaelic footballers, opportunities to play for Ireland and pit our skills against athletes from other nations and codes are few and far between, and next month we will test ourselves against arguably the strongest ever Australian team to come here.

"Not only do they include the best of the AFL in terms of talent but they have experience of this code in their ranks, not least with their management team, whose exploits both in their domestic game and indeed in this code, are proven.

"It's a challenge we will relish and I look forward to working with Joe and his selectors and all of the lads on the panel to do our best to keep the Cormac McAnallen Cup in Ireland."

Team manager Joe Kernan added: "I wish Bernard well in what is a coveted role. He is following in the footsteps of many great footballers in accepting the role and it is something he is sure to embrace.

Former Republic of Ireland manager Brian Kerr blames GAA and Hurling for creating Irish football's "mongrel dog" playing sytle.

"Why are they technically better? I think our culture is contaminated by the fact that we have a lot of rugby and a lot of soccer and we've too much Gaelic as well and hurling."

He claims that Irish teams will always struggle to match their European counterparts in the skill stakes because of the the school taught mostly Gaelic and hurling, but not soccer.

"That's had an impact on the style of the game in Ireland and that nobody comes from a culture where it's only and specifically soccer and the influence is we just play it like we should play it."

"We're a bit of a mongrel and we're going through a stage I'd call Netherlands-Lite. We're all playing 4-3-3 at underage and we'll all be members of the non-tackling union in future. It's all nice, nice, nice but jaysus don't put any passion into it."

Brian Kerr is entitled to his self serving opinion, that said it is idiotic to blame other sports for the lack of technical excellence in Irish players, kids in other countries like France for example play rugby and they have all kids of fantastic technical players.

Coaching is the issue, kids putting the GAA and Rugby before sawker is the issue but the funny thing is, if you train them when they are young with good coaches, they will become excellent technical players, the FAI seem to be a poorly run outfit, he might want to look at the way his own sport is being run in the country before blaming other sports for the country's lack of quality players.

Gaelic football is the biggest and best sport in the country, period, end of.

Exactly! It's such an offense to put the blame in other sports. Instead of pinpointing Gaelic, he should just help the football league to do well in theirs. We'll gonna have our own business here.

I find this issue very serious. I mean, teamwork should be prioritized as well as game forms and the likes. If the players do not agree that much with the manager, or the the team leaders per se, there is really something wrong in there. Not saying Cunningham has to leave but weigh things. Balance. Think. Players should widen their understanding, too. It's just a matter of a leader and a follower, give and take.

Well, I think there is a 99% chances that Kevin Walsh will definitely remain as the manager of Galway!
