i think its going to be a very hard year for laois and now is it becoming clearer why sugure left or did the players leave because he left?

The two Kingston brothers confirmed gone from Laois panel for upcoming season. I expected Donie to go but I was surprised that Paul isn't there either. For me, Donie gone from the panel means that Laois are in huge relegation trouble for the league. Not sure we have the scores up front to stay up. Evan O'Carroll will need to step up in a big way this season.

I see on the positive side that Niall Corbet and Garry Comerford are on the panel. Corbet could easily find himself starting as well because Laois desperately need a free taker. Comerford was a player who I was very impressed with when Stradbally won championship in 2016. I imagine he'll have no problems getting up to speed fitness wise due to his last few years playing soccer at a high level.

Serious loss them two to a small county and will Evan stay injury free

Was he not trying to get a move to Portlaoise a few years ago?

It gets better and better... so it's not for the love of rosenallis he is doing this.... why did that not go through?

I see where Gary Brennan and Jamie Malone aren't playing with Clare next year. Should improve our chances of two points a bit in that game anyway. Brennan in particular is a brilliant footballer.

Also Kieran Martin will be not be part of the Westmeath set up this year .

Saying that it looks increasinnly likely Donie Kingston won't be part of the Laois set up in 2020.

whats up with donie? is it just he not committing or has he an injury. big loss if he does not commit

Any more news on who's in and who's out?

tough game in parnell park, are the rathdowney/eirll contingent back as yet after their leinster run?

On the football side I think the following are confirmed;

O'Dempseys - Francis Finn
Killeshin - Karl O'Dwyer
Rosenallis - Paddy Dunne
Ballyroan Abbey - Pauric Clancy
St Josephs - Joe Higgins
Courtwood - Eddie Kinsella
Portarlington - Martin Murphy
Ballylinan - Mick Lillis

Leaving Emo, Graigue, Ballyfin, Arles Killeen, Arles Kilcruise, Portlaoise, The Heath and Stradbally who I haven't heard as yet.

with the exception of portlaoise are the rest of the clubs without managers or have the previous managers just not been ratified or committed as yet?

any word on hurling managers?

Neutralobserver - in my humble opinion you're totally out of order with your derogatory remarks on John O'Loughlin's transfer back to Rosenallis. That lad has given his all to the county since he first wore the jersey. If he had stayed playing with Rosenallis when he was younger then the chances are he would never have developed into the player he was and is. The Rosenallis club has made magnificent progress in the past 10-15 years and it will be great to see JOL togging out in the colours of his home parish.

your telling me that every good player that does not play senior with their own club should leave their home club to further their own career. im not disputing the fact that o loughlin is a good player and that he has given everything to his county.  he has been a magnificent servant but why rosenallis now when they gone to senior? he will be a serious addition to that team and there is no doubting that but it just leaves me amazed that when rosenallis needed him most he was no where to be seen along with all the other players mentioned in this thread from rosenallis.

all you have to do is look back at the brian daly saga a few years back, how did that leave barrowhouse feeling??  and thats just to mention 1.

Not just Mark Dunne. Paddy and Paul Dunne also left Rosenallis for The Rock.
And I'm pretty sure a guy called Brian Fitzpatrick also took the same route. And Phil Peake could also possibly be from Rosenallis.

Are you serious? Why would rosenallis take them back then? And is that the same paddy over them with the guy from galway. Jesus that's messy or how would they have the nerve to return after that period of time or was it just that there was no team there at that time? Committee and players must be a quiet bunch up there

Mark Dunne from Rosenallis originally. Moved to The Rock and then to Rhode and then back to Rosenallis

Thanks for the clarification. So rosenallis has a habit of this. Letting their young players leave and bringing them back after their best years are over. No sense in that at all or very short memory out there.
