Quote from: NorthAntrim on Today at 12:23:57 PMYes, they are competing very well. Shouldve been in place years ago

But failing to field in the reserve league as a result.

Hence my reference to everyone working together to get a joined up solution.

Loughgiel are probably the best blessed numbers wise. They have entered Div 2 as a result of limited games in res leagues over the years with (im guessing) other teams letting them down. The stronger reserve teams should play all county leagues in my opinion. The weaker play in the divisional leagues, north and south antrim and scrap these Reserve leagues

Don't disagree with your reasoning.

But then you get into a debate about whether they should play their D2 fixtures or their reserve fixtures when there is a clash and this results in other teams being let down.

I think a collective approach is required to sort this issue out.

Its probably a fixtures issue more than anything. ACHL on a sunday and reserve games on a monday. Do they need to be in both? Possibly not but then that affects the rest, lower number of teams if they dont enter. They also play NAJHL mainly on a thursday night

At the same time not too many teams can maybe get 20 lads out on a Sunday at the same time and different venues so Monday night only option for them. I dont think there is a right answer to be honest

Obviously the ref has either viewed it deliberate or accidental with excess force?

Quote from: NatSoSaff on May 16, 2024, 04:05:21 PMGlenravel didn't look too bad last night. It's a pity they are so badly hampered with county men missing. Again, what is the point in a so called split season. It's killing club football for these lads

Any momentum possibly destroyed by being well represented at county. Hopefully with the playoffs they will all be available if thats where they end up

Cargin also scored a few late goals when the game was dead to put a gloss on the scoreline??

I was at it and your source has gave you a phoney account.
Listen I have seen many people comment on here within last 12 months about Bakers negative tactics, I commented something similar after watching them last night.
Ballymena scored their goal along with 3 or 4 points in the last 10 mins, Cargin were 7 points up at half time ended up scoring 6 goals, could have been 10. Just being honest.

Quote from: Ghost+Tommy on May 14, 2024, 01:16:54 PMI think it's the guy O Callaghan who has all saints playing the way they are, plus the older players in the squad seem to have a big say behind the scenes regarding the set up,not to many listen to what the Baker shouts which is mostly abuse
Are they allegedly playing well? I saw them tonight, fist passing the ball to eachother along the midfield line back and forward, barely ever kicking the ball and conceding every single kickout. If this is playing well I give up.

They've kicked 1-13 without kicking a ball and hand passing across the 65? Did mcnabb move the Cargin nets to the middle of the pitch or how did they score?

Legs are well and truely on the way out at 35+ which a good few Ahoghill lads are but fair play. And plenty of youth about too

If we can press in the forward line like Wexford did, force the galway defence into mistakes, theres no reason why we cant give them a game too.

Obviously Dublin first, cant wait to see if we've a bit about us or did we catch wexford on a very off day

Hopefully we can go to Dublin and perfrom something close to the weekend. Massive shift all over the field! Paul Boyle back in club action i see. Hoefully could add something off the bench as we probably are slighly light.

Championship starts this weekend. Corrigan a leveller against a lower tier side. We'll be judged on Wexford, Dublin and Carlow not KK and Galway

Quote from: EOC1923 on April 14, 2024, 10:59:06 PMSurely the guy in the back room team throwing pathetic digs at half time will be removed immediately from the set up, embarrassing stuff.

Yeah, anyone that's not involved on the team getting themselves involved with that type of carry on needs removed, embarrassing altogether.

So glad it never happens at club level...

fella threw a dig in the heat of the moment, it happens far more than it should, hopefully he apologised after to the other lad. Take the suspension and move on, if it was a player who threw a dig would we be saying he should never play for us again?

Players are different. Youre in a physical battle on the field. Things are said, contact made, adrenaline etc
The fella throwing boys to the floor and punches is a Statman. 100% should be gone!!!
Like he said

So anyone not named as a player or as a sub, should be thrown out? That's ok? Seen plenty injured players having fisty cuffs during games but because they are players (but not playing) its all part of the craic?

As said before a player is different

Would you get away with throwing digs in your place of work? (Im guessing hes not there on a voluntary basis, could be wrong) Representing Antrim GAA live on TV

PS Dont agree with injured players

Also slightly pathetic that he sat and let the wrong man be sent off!

I assume hes in a paid role by Antrim GAA, represeting the team on a professional level. Imagine Andy throwing digs. Embarrassing. Pathetic
