Quote from: sidelineball on February 17, 2024, 06:53:24 PMDerry are some outfit, beat 2022 All Ireland Champions Kerry in their own backyard, hammered Tyrone and destroyed Monaghan. Won the McKenna cup at a canter and back to back Ulster titles. Very hard to look past them for major silverware this year especially with Harte in charge.
What month is it again ?

Seafoid, why take the bait.
that twit will now use one of his other 8 alias to continue this asinine conversation.

Well done to both teams in crappy conditions.
Thank God Glen did not blow it.
I was having my worst Mayo nightmares for the last ten minutes.

Elbow to the head, a yellow card.
An incompetent referee who over the years seems to enjoy his power and often putting his fingers to his lips seemingly telling players to stop talking, rather than making critical decisions

Red card and he's lapped that one the other part of your post? WTF

Maybe he's telling players to keep quiet?

And now because he's a cop it's normal  ;D

I did not know nor comment on what he does for a living.
I was alluding to how annoying it has to be as an adult player to have an official do that.
you might consider doing it to an under 8 or 10 player.

General discussion / Re: Death Notices

Showing my age, but was in the canal end that day.
It was absolutely bananas.
The surge of the crowd forward was unreal.
One of those you were lucky to witness in person.
RIP I am sure he was a true legend in Offaly.

It was his boyhood dream to play for Kilmacud......

it was his boyhood dream to be a great footballer. He probably spent hours on end practicing to be better.
He achieved that, he should be proud.
As for the Kilmacud club, F them.
They will probably continue to do it.
bigger Q, with a more complex answer, what dont politicians in rural counties, put more emphasis in decentralization, so that less Mayo Roscommon, Sligo Leitrim Lonford, etc next generation are not being
forced to live up there and therby see another round of young fellas with parents from said counties playing for Dublin.
That is the end game IMO.
simple partial solution to this, Knock Aiport, imagine how many thousands of people it would keep in the west and mid west if it got half them money Shannon Got.
digressed a bit too much there. My bad

That Arsenal all or nothing documentary on Amazon was unwatchable because of him

I would say that on the surface, I like the way Klopp carries himself more than any other premier league manager.
I have been an Arsenal fan for probably longer than a few on this board have been alive, and usually go to one or two games a year.
Arteta is ok, I am sure he is under a lot of pressure to win a championship. He needs the balls to put Saka (and maybe Nketiah) on the bench for a while. If Saka wasn't English, there would not be a word about him, a 40 MM contract over four years FFS. This past Saturday was another glaring example of this.
Without Odegarrd, and if Martinnelli is not on, they are easy to contain.
They got very lucky V Many City a month ago, if they lost that one the would be out of it already.
Positives, they play attractive soccer, easy on the eye, I just hate lazy over payed players.
Saka should go watch Rooney back in the day bursting his arse running the length of the filed to defend.

It is a huge success if you are a FAI or Rugger administrator or supporter.
I will challenge anyone to some up with GAA coverage on RTE, Independent or Irish Times from August 3rd to January 31st.
The Saturday edition of Times on August 5th (week after the all-Ireland) had 3 pages of Soccer, 2 pages of Rugby, one horse racing, 1/3 gaelic games.
It will be like that until next January, barring the odd manager change or retirement.
Wonderful PR move by GAA. You really could not make it up.

read this on the news
"Gardaí believe the teenager is part of a group involved in other attacks in the area in recent weeks and months."
Please tell me that if true, that when arrested these dirtbags will not be given bail.

the garda would soon turn up if they seen hundreds marching into the areas where tds live

Saw about 50 of them at an eviction few weeks ago, a useless shower of pricks
I am certain there are some assholes on the force, but do you think 50 of them showed up voluntarily.

How terrible and disgusting is this.
What kind of people are Ireland turning out.
As a fairly regular visitor 3x4 times a year,
I have always watched my bearings and socialized between two or three pubs close to Stephens Green area where I usually stay.
This is just simply unacceptable.
Last year I was walking around Stephens Green on a Sunday morning for some exercise at around 11am, Three or four dirt bags out of their mind waiting for a Luas were physicially confronting people who were just out casually walking.
I actually looked for a guard to alert them before something bad happened, I had to walk half way down Grafton St, to find some. In fairness they did go up there to check it out.
All the politicians will be out no doubt screaming about it.
I wonder how many Guards were recruited over past 5 years relative to how many retired.
How many of these politicians vigorousley supported hiring more.
most rural towns don't even have a full time guard.

Jack O'Connor in third stint as kerry manager. Has 4 All Ireland medals as kerry manager. He is level behind the great Sean Boylan 2  behind Jim Gavin 4 behind  Mick O'Dwyer.  Can Jack beat the legendary Mick O'Dwyer record? He has Shane Ryan, Jason Foley, Tom O'Sullivan, Gavin White, Diarmuid O'Connor, Sean O'Shea,  David and Paudie Clifford coming into their prime.

He will become first kerry manager to win back to back All Ireland titles since Micko.Only matter of time before Jacko succeeds.

Was that one of your questions on your inter cert.
Just go away with all your other new aliases.

It's on the wrong day. Loads of people looking for tickets. Croker is sold out. Should have been on before Kerry Derry

Of course it should.
Way more logical
But then again remember some idiot holds sway over the fixture list
Using some illogical methodology
