If Pomeroy can get over the dogged Owen Roes team yeah i think they get to the final. Maybe Aghyaran might do something against Clonoe but only if they play more defensive unlike the league affair where they went toe to toe with them

I honestly think Gortin have been shafted two weeks in a row and now Owen Roes and Pomeroy as well. There is no reason a game couldn't be played on Saturday evening after the Edendork game? And a standalone game on the Sunday could be fitted in at a reasonable time at least?

Gortin and Strabane started close to 8:30 last night and only for a great score at the end by the Clogher half back, that game would've went to extra time and the second game would not have got underway to after 9pm on a Sunday night! No respect for players, management or fans.

We want our youth to look up to our senior teams but some can't even see them play in the biggest games of the year. Wouldn't see many u10s there on a Sunday night for a game not over to 10pm, or even Friday night when Trillick and Loughmacrory finished up close to 11. A joke to be honest

are all championship games neutral venues.

Is there something in the regulations that clubs must be given at least 7 days notice of when their chmapionship game will be played?

5 days. Rule 6.23 OG.

7 days would be practically impossible in most scenarios where games are week on week

I believe you can challenge having to play a league match within 7 days of a championship match which is possibly the regulation you're referring to. Tyrone and other counties have practically made that rule defunct now that league is finished before championship.

Hopefully Stewartstown recover from that bad beating they got last night and don't go the way Strabane did this year.

Quote from: ClubScene13 on September 25, 2023, 01:23:05 PMEdendork were really really impressive on Saturday, outstanding performance all over the field. I thought they had a chance but I did not see that coming, 0-14 to 0-4 after a rumbly enough early penalty. They'll take serious confidence from that and would hold no fear of Trillick.

Edendork v Dungannon in a semi final would be a spectacle, I don't know if it would be appreciated in the west of the county how much genuine bad blood there is in that fixture, and Paul Donaghy's transfer has made it worse in recent years. Of course it could just as easily be Dromore v Trillick which is never dull.

Errigal should have enough but credit to Moortown they are a seriously dogged outfit, they didn't take too many tankings in the league this year.

Ardboe v Coalisland you would edge to Ardboe right now but the Fianna as a club won't have any fear of them, I can see that going either way.

Intermediate you would think is going to be one of Clonoe, Pomeroy, Moy? Outside shouts for Aghyaran and Derrylaughan, I actually think it's fairly wide open even Gortin Kildress Stewartstown are all decent when they get their best teams out.
Intermediate wise I think Derrylaughan showed last night they are also genuine contenders. Semi Final pairings likely line up Clonoe V Moy and Pomeroy V Derrylaughan. So the four strongest teams are likely into the last four.
Senior wise I always thought the only contenders outside of Errigal with a real chance were Trillick, Dromore and Dungannon and it seems to be materialising that way. Edendork have a genuine chance of a final, they wont fear playing Trillick or Dromore/Dungannon but don't think they can beat Errigal. Errigal fit to match up with Edendorks big players.
This weekend im going for Errigal, Ardboe, Trillick and Dungannon.

They won't and will likely be back in Junior 2025.

Derrylaughan had began to rack up big scores in their last 2-3 league games, think even Kildress got a right hiding from them but it's always very difficult to come back from a championship hiding like last night.

I wouldn't be writing Gortin off against Derrylaughan though as it will be a completely different game.

The final I'd like to see is Clonoe v Pomeroy.

Ah I only said it in jest. Stewartstown are a solid Division 2 side and had a decent season considering they were on the go so late in the 2022 season. I'd be surprised if they ended up anywhere near junior for the foreseeable. They must have had a few injuries last night? I see Dan Lowe wasn't listed to start?

The bottom 3 in Division 2 this year were as bad as there's been for quite a while but it will be much tougher to stay up next year.

Be very suprised if any teams coming up from Junior stayed up in 2024, gap seems as big as I can ever recall. Stewartstown coming up were unlucky to go down in the first place following the covid reshuffle. Strabane lost one game in that junior league and went down this year with a stand alone win.
