Donaghmore field a weak team
Thus keeping Derrylaughlan up - league is a complete joke.
Eglish fielded a weakened team against Donaghmore themselves, that's why they're relegated. Masters of their own downfall, whatever genius came up with that idea

Sad day for Down GAA when one team goes out to play football and the other team just want to perform thuggery and are accommodated by the referee and his officials. Did race, and I'm not even from Down.
For a man who's "not even from Down" you have posted the majority of your posts regarding Down football

Ardboe stuck at a crossroads again. Have only got past the Quarter final once since 2009? Is that correct?
I suspect Ardboe over the next 10 years will be featuring in a right few finals.
Nothing is ever certain, many a good u18 team never made an impact at seniors never mind looking at u17 teams. Ardboe won 3 minor championships between '08 and '13 and haven't made any finals with them players yet.

The problem is, you can have analysis, or you can have entertainment. It's hard to get both.
You are on the money, absolutely correct

Great to see a club like Errigal struggling when they have about 4 parishes in the one team.
Interesting to see an Errigal team condoning drug dealing in their team selection recently. Have had a man lining out with an ankle tag on.

Brackaville have lost a few, Clonoe and Coalisland gaining at their expense.

Killyman have lost a whole family to Edendork by accounts. Not a club that could afford to lose many players as it was.
The family in question are just returning to their old club you will find

Harte will forever be a legend in Tyrone who brought so much to all our lives. I was lucky enough to be 18 when we won our 1st AI and for the rips to Dublin alone and the memories created i owe him a huge debt of gratitude. We were spoilt beyond anything we'd experienced.

That man has been touched by enough tragedy to floor ten men and he still stood tall. Some may have disagreed with him and, especially one here, personally dragged his name through the mud but he still kept us on the edge of the top table during an unprecedented time of domination by one team.

I'll finish off with this stolen from Paul Fitzpatrick on twitter:

If Mickey Harte had only taken over Tyrone in 2009, his subsequent four Ulster titles and one All-Ireland final appearance would still make him their greatest ever manager.

Sums it up, really

Considering art macrory won 5 ulster titles and got to 2 all ireland finals with no back door available shows paul fitzpatrick and you are both wrong....

Think you maybe wrong also. What were the years of the 5 ulster titles you refer to? By the way, I agree on your sentiment about Big Art who was a brilliant manager in a dog fight era of Ulster KO football but I think he only has 4 USFC titles - 84, 86, 95 & 96. Maybe I am wrong and apologies if I am
2001 Also, as well as our first national league in 2002

Anyone know the league structure next year? Is it meant to change?

How many can be relegated etc?
18 teams in Division 1
16 teams in Division 2
15 Teams in Division 3.
Would be 4 teams being relegated from Div 1 and 2.
If they go with the previously planned restructure of 12 teams in 1A 1B and 2 in 2022 theres a possibility of 8 teams going down from Division 1 next season.

Correct in terms of the number of teams in each Division, but only 6 would be relagated from Division 1 because intermediate League and Championship winners would only go to 1B

The drawing of clubs into groups randomly, is just that too random!  You could end up with two imbalanced groups
Would it not have been reasonable to use last years league placings  and go 1 3 5 7 9 11 13 15  places in one group and the evens in another .
Valid point

John Mitchel must be judged in the context of his contribution to the people of Ireland and his contribution to the cause of Irish Freedom, a man who helped aid the plight of Irish Catholic's and unite them with their Protestant countrymen and neighbours. A man who influence Padraic Pearse it's on this contribution he ought to be judged and not his politics in another country which he had little influence in. While no doubt his support of slavery was wrong it must be judged through the prism and experiences Mitchel himself witnessed in his own life. Acknowledge John Mitchel wasn't perfect but remember John Mitchel the Republican and Patriot who contributed and sacrificed for Ireland

Coalisland 3s work same as Errigal, they have to submit a panel who are then not eligible to play for the main senior team (But can play for Senior Reserves) - Is that the working of it?

No they cant play for Senior reserves, its one panel or the other

Senior/ Senior Reserves
Junior/ Junior Reserves
During a year however a player can be re graded to play for the team above or team below as long as this happens by 1st July. See below from CCC Regulations

Where a club enters a third (and fourth) team into the adult competitions, they must name a
panel of 40 players prior to the commencement of the competition, compliant with Rule 6.2
T.O. 2018, who may not play for their third (or fourth) team.
Exceptions:
- Where a player on the 'list of 40' has not played for either the clubs first team or
reserve team before 1st July, they may be permitted to regrade to the
third/fourth team with permission of CCC.
- Where a player, not on the 'list of 40', plays for the first and/or reserve team,
they may not subsequently play for the thirds or fourths team.

When do they announce league fixtures then? How many confirmed dates should we expect for the league?

It will follow in the coming weeks, they'll have to work in the Championship draws into the first few rounds of the league fixtures so suitable time is left between so as to avoid any potential bother with clubs targeting / niggle etc.
Usually comes out in first week in March. Didnt happen like that last year, was a few examples where the championship draws for first round actually had their league game played after the championship
