Lucky 'only' one dead it seems.

Hopefully the two weeks off will suit the Mayo team and there will be a backlash. Should win this game seeing as Cavan will be playing their 3rd game in 3 weeks.

GAA Discussion / All Ireland final tickets thread
August 22, 2016, 10:43:30 AM
I have the onerous task of organising tickets for my sister, father (who will probably get one anyway) and wife also. This thread is not just for me, but for everyone else hoping to get tickets as the scramble is well and truly underway already. It's great to be worrying about this stuff though.

General discussion / Transferring money
April 20, 2016, 07:36:43 AM
Any online facility that can enable safe money transfers from a southern to a northern account? I need to transfer a large amount this week and I don't want any scammers to hack, I suppose is the word my account or the other one either.

GAA Discussion / Mayo v Down NFL Division 1
March 28, 2016, 05:44:54 PM
Despite yesterday's encouraging win, Mayo have to win once more to be sure of safety. Should do it, but Down won't want to 'do a Westmeath' and lose all their games I'm sure.

GAA Discussion / Donegal v Mayo NFL 2016
February 22, 2016, 09:27:33 PM
Think it's time for a thread on this one. Donegal flying in their early games. Mayo struggled against Cork and went down fighting against Dublin. Big enough game for Mayo. Lose and we could be in trouble, especially as Down and Kerry play each other. A win on the other hand would ease relegation worries. Mayo have a few back from injury, Keegan, McLoughlin and Higgins return from their absences against Dublin. The Hollymount-Carramore contingent are back, but Stephen Coen and maybe Darren Coen are the only ones from there.

Donegal will rightfully be favourites, but hopefully our front men can click. Hopefully...

GAA Discussion / Mayo v Dublin NFL Div 1 2016

Hope the newer players can step up and be competitive. Hard to see anything other than a Dublin win in this one. Just missing too many key men in my opinion

From the southern tip and KerryMike himself
to J70 at point north
One thing in common for us on here -
Our GAA thoughts pour forth

There are many a man who shed a tear
In laughter or in vain
Loyalties can blind a man,
And irk the external jugular vein

Be it Sligo, Dublin, Galway, Louth,
Roscommon or Westmeath,
There comes a time to stand your ground
With fire and venom breathe.

Many a soul weve lost by now
Dear Sonny with his commas,
Remember Francis bible tones
Addressing pious dramas

But many have stayed to say their piece
Steadfast to the end,
Defending, attacking, a source of fun
Yet may drive you around the bend.

We have agorm, amallon, and an cnoc mor
lamenting Mayos woes,
Armagh 4 Sam and anluabu
To keep us on our toes.

Armaghniac is one of many
To reach us from the orchard
Yet Armaghstew he stands above
This man often has me tortured!

AZoffaly, Mayos brave Barney
The elders of the board,
Whilst Benny, Billy, Bordnamona
Will put you to the sword.

The Bottle men carrier and thrower,
Will post without a care
Brokencrossbar and popular Bud Wiser
Our tipster extraordinaire

Columbia, Declan, Deiseach, Dicky
No messing you have been warned!
Dinny, Donagh and boul drici
Who keeps us well informed.

Easytiger comes and goes
Not like our livewire fcukads
Fearglasmor keeps his as gaeilge
For Fionntamhnach too were glad

Gallsman and galwaybayboy post
Geezer 02 keeps her lit,
Hardy keeps an eye on things,
And can crush you with his wit

Harold, Hegan, Harpsman proud
Armagh are well served here,
Homeofhurling keeps us right
Our Hurling man - no peers.

Intodwest and johnnycool,
And our keenwestmeathbhoy
Have posted heavy and kept the faith
Like Redhandfan from the Moy

Laoisgaa keeps us right
With gaa journo pieces
Lecale2 and ifdown1
Their humour rarely ceases

Lynchbhoy and boul mac eoghain
Keep the norths flag high,
Maddog with his many comments
From Englands shores he sighs

Magpie Seanie - a stalwart no doubt
As is midlouth now
Midman, Sheehy, neilthemac,
For handball take a bow.

Norf Tyrone and oakleafgael
Are proud to shout aloud
Oristeach, Orior, Ormondeboy,
Still they look in, unbowed

Owenmoresider, paddypastit,
Passedit himself as well
Phpearse and pintofguinness
A man I cannot gel.

Randal Patrick McMurphy
No way that mans a bore,
Realredhandfan is making noise
All the way from Donaghmore

Resdubwhite, Rois and Rufus of course
His Harps reports read clear
Saffron Sam stirs the pot
Saffronian a man to fear!

Sandy Hill and dear Seafoid
Drop in just now and again
Shamrock, Shinny and Slim Shady
Our leading poster of fame

Smokin Joe and Star Spangler
Have been about forever
Stephenites a leading light
And Tacadoir will endeavour

The Biff and The Flying Doctor
Ive never on here seen floored
The Muppet keeps his head involved
In case we all get bored

Thewobbler, trueblue and TYP
Our Omagh/Armagh Head
Uladh, Will Hunting and Ziggyego
Do they ever go to bed?

001, 05Ventor and 05sams,
A man whos always proud
But Tony Fearons a man apart
Controversy pulls a crowd!

So this lame ode may irk at times
But its a tribute to our host
That has kept us together through thick and thin
As I write my 2000th post

Galway coming into this game having played two championship games already. Mayo haven't played a competitive game since April 5th. Galway will be gunning for us after 2013. Nobody really knows what Mayo are like. Roll on the day because these weeks without football are awful.

General discussion / Methods of proposing!
April 03, 2015, 10:37:56 PM
OK, how did ye propose? ;D

Was it a long speech or what. A friend of mine went on for about 5 minutes (or so he says) and eventually asked 'Will you marry me?' Just wondering if it took anybody on here that long to get to the point. I know there was another thread on this, but I cannot for the life of me find it.

GAA Discussion / Mayo v Monaghan 1-3-15
February 22, 2015, 04:02:13 PM
Hopefully the Mayo players will be stung into action as they enter this '4 pointer' early in March against a Monaghan side who dismantled the team who dismantled us. Cork only beat Monaghan by a point, and that in itself says a lot about where Monaghan are at, however Monaghan will be stung going into this game as well so it could be a Tyrone type situation once again for us Mayo supporters. We'll reserve judgement on the culling of the panel issues and indeed what direction Mayo seem to be heading until this game is over. If we win, which is possible - then we're heading on the right path, lose and the knives will be sharpened for the duo in charge, i.e. why was such and such cut etc...

My gut tells me that Mayo won't be as bad against Tyrone, but not knowing much about Monaghan, I cannot say Mayo will win easily, just about, or as Lar said for me to say Mayo will end up getting walloped by 6 points!
