Hello All
I have been doing some reasearch into the Internediate hurling championship and have found no roll of honour online
Maybe I have been looking in the wrong places but if anyone could post a link or copy/paste I would really appreciate it
Thanks

Where was Castlemore?
St Canices? (Ballacolla are I am thinking?)
St Conleths?
St Canices, Ballacolla and Ballygeehan are all essentially Clough/Ballacolla. There have never been separate teams in Clough and Ballacolla.
You'd imagine St Conleths would be around the Portarlington area?
Am I correct in saying Castletown's win in 1993 came after a Junior in 1992? They then went on to win a senior in 1995.
We'll never see anything like that again....
Junior B 1990
Junior A 1992
Interm. 1993
Senior 1995

The names on the St Conleths team at the time would suggest Portarlington /O'Dempseys catchment area.

Thankyou very much gaastats
This really depends what you mean by 'Intermediate'.
If you mean the second tier of hurling (Senior A, Senior B, whatever) - then the roll of honour looks different.
Castletown are essentially the current Intermediate champions by historical comparison.

That is very true.
Castletown essentially won the Intermediate (2nd grade), Rosenallis the Junior A (3rd grade), Slieve Bloom the Junior B (4th Grade) etc.

Junior B 1990
Junior A 1992
Interm. 1993
Senior 1995
Also I'd be guessing that Castletown won the Junior B with their second team in 1990. Considering they won the Intermediate in 1986 and went Senior for at least 1987, it would have been some fall from grace for their first team!

St Conleths were in Ballybrittas. A lot of Courtwood and O'Dempseys footballers and the odd one from Emo. Won junior and intermediate titles and then just faded away.
Milltown were similar in the Joseph's area, but seemingly didn't win the Intermediate. Thought they had,

So obviously Ballybrittas area had a Senior Hurling team in 1969. Do you know if they stayed Senior for long?
Were any of Courtwood, O Dempseys or Emo senior football at the time?

Milltown won a Junior A title in 1979 according to Laois Gaa website. I thought it was later than that myself. I think they contested an intermediate final in themid to late 80's. They were a good group of hurlers for a football area but always played second fiddle to the football. Didn't get the rub of the green either as from talking to lads involved they felt that they were always treated a bit differently to the traditional hurling teams. It was Noel Peacock who drove the Milltown idea and he organised underage teams for a few years but it eventually died out.
Yes, I thought it was in the early '80s, too. Am I right in saying Slieve Margy use the old Milltown pitch? It's more or less the same area.
They train on the old Milltown pitch however adult games are played in Ballylynan and I see some underage games have been played in Barrowhouse. They would draw from the same area as Milltown did. The likes of Sean and Martin dempsey played for Milltown back in the day.
They also won a Junior B title in 1986
