Based in Spain but have UK accounts and want to download the mobile banking app for Nationwide. Not available on my Google Play store. What is easiest way around this? Google forum seems to be a bit of a nightmare with a multitude of updates some of which seems to work for some and not for others. Would prefer not to piss away a couple of hours trying different options...

Just booked the holidays to Western Canada for the last two weeks of August. Fly into Calgary and out of Vancouver. We'll be hiring a car and want to do some decent hiking in the likes of Banff, Jasper etc. Have never been before but wanted to do it for a long time ever since the sister came back with photos years ago. Don't have anything planned as yet really so open to what people would personally recommend and whether some parks are much more worthwhile than others (say the relative merits of Yoho, Revelstone, Kootenay etc). Probably looking to do 7-9 good 6-8 hour day hikes, nothing technical, though taking in a glacier would be nice.

If anyone has any experience of the different parks or can recommend any specific hikes then would be greatly appreciated.

General discussion / Madeira / Marrakech
January 10, 2010, 06:28:39 PM
Lads, am looking at holidays over Easter for a week. Would like to do a bit of hiking, although the holiday doesn't have to be only hiking. The missus is insisting on somewhere reasonably warm however.

Only two places I can think of within reasonable distance for a weeks holiday and likely to be warm are Madeira and Marrakech. Has anyone been to either? If so would you recommend them or be able to provide any good links to info?

Or anywhere else anyone can think of?

General discussion / Kerry / Carrantuohill
June 15, 2009, 08:03:31 PM
A crowd of us (four couples) are heading to Kerry the weekend of the 14th August and looking to climb Carrantuohill. Whilst no expert, I've done a bit of hiking before so have some navigational experience although I'd be dubious about my abilities in low visibility. A few things:

1) I've read bits and pieces about the Devil's Ladder being in worse and worse shape and we may be best avoiding it altogether etc. Has anyone been up it recently? Do you need a head for heights? Most of us would be adventurous enough but have my doubts about some of the girls when push comes to shove.

2) Which route has the best views and how do they compare difficulty wise?

The next thing then to sort out is the food/drink/music. The rest of them are all foreign so would like to show them some traditional music. Any recommendations for good pubs for a session and some pub grub (would be keen to avoid a huge tourist crowd if possible although realise may be difficult in August...)

Thanks in advance

Lads, am off to Cuba for 10 days in a couple of weeks. What are the must sees and is there anything I should avoid like the plague? ANy comments on accomodation you may have stayed in if you can remember them would be much appreciated.

Hurling Discussion / Cork v Clare throw in time
May 27, 2007, 11:19:01 AM
Surprised no thread on this game, have Bottlethrower and homeofhurling left the board? Always interesting to read their views.

Anyway, the yesterday's Irish Times has this down as 3.30pm throw in, but RTE's website says it's 2.00pm. I assume RTE is right but want to confirm so I don't waste an hour and a half watching football...thanks
