Dont agree about Gaelic Football lads...have you ever watched the 70s and 80s videos of Kerry and the Dubs hoofing the ball up in the air and then seeing who can secure possession without being maimed???

It was the unpredictability of the game, the 50/50 balls, man to man aspect that made it more entertaining. Now most games would bore the hole off ya.

Soccer wasn't neoliberal. The FA Cup used to be interesting. Steaua Bucharest and Red Star Belgrade were European champions
Rugby was safer. The French used to do interesting stuff
The jerseys were better
Saturday afternoon telly was a sport extravaganza

Cycling in the pre-EPO days. They say that even if others were doping you still stood a chance of beating them if you stayed clean. EPO made doping mandatory for anyone who just wanted to keep up.

Wrestling in the 70s. Giant Haystacks, Big daddy etc on UTV on a Sat afternoon.

Wrestling now is......well, I don't know what it is to be honest.

Boxing for sure as well.
