f**king clickbait.

He catches a ball to the chest in a midfield where nobody jumps. Gearoid Mc Kiernans one of the top midfielders in Ireland. I'd say that catch wouldn't even be in his top 50%.

agreed. i hadnt seen the catch at the time, seen the link on balls or joe.ie and was very much underwhelmed. its standard.

Tried to find highlights of Sunday's game. S'neill got out of jail. Thon #11 devlin is a g***y. Off the ball all game.  Found this link. Ohanlon scores. Runs towards cross man to hit him. He himself goes down injured. Sums them up

https://youtu.be/cZxfa8OaNc8

Deserved all he got there. There can be no complaints from any Kilcoo person over that incident, or any like it. Whats good for the goose..

Just happy to see a transfer fee with the singe figure. which is dead cheap these days. seems like every tom dick n harry price is at least 10 million! even for clubs like hull and leeds and wolves and the likes.

African cup of nations will pose a problem though with these men. Mane Salah, Matip if he decides to return to the fold, and Keita a potential signing, also be lost in January time to the tournament. It would put me off signing African players if i was manager to be honest, well, too many anyway.

Had somewhat of a secret weapon in Harrison, not so secret now! I'd expect him to be fine to train this week. He looked to hold hamstring, then got a rub and spray on a calf. Clarke at half time did say he wouldn't be the fittest boy in the world so.

As supporters, the least we really ask for is effort and heart, got them in spades at the weekend. The performance and result followed. As good and intense a game as I've seen from Down in quite a while. Amazing.

Referee in second half was awful from a Down perspective. Gave some very very harsh calls against us.

McKernan a lucky boy at the end, wouldn't expect such a high and rash challenge from man with his experience. Harrison deserved MoM award for me, not KMcK.

I was in favour of the mark from day 1. Thankfully many doubters are coming round to it. Yesterdays game in Clones had many fine examples of it being a positive rule change. Colly Cavanaghs one in particular because he was arched back and caught it and landed on his back. Old rule would have sen him swarmed, and either get blown for over carrying or he would have just hand passed the ball out to anywhere, trying to avoid the over carrying.

Thankfully people see it doesn't slow the game down, at all, it isn't that hard to referee, and it opens new doors tactically. Would I be right in saying Mickey Harte wasn't a fan of it when it was first proposed? I'm sure he was happy with it yesterday, launched several attacks from good marks.

The rules gives men the confidence that they can launch themselves in the air to make a spectacular catch, without fear of being hounded when you land. It can only lead to more gravity defying catches. Which surely everyone enjoys?

I wear the orthodics in all my footwear. Bar my slippers i have on at the minute  8)

I suffer from blisters on arch of foot too. always on the left one more for some reason. But when i run without the orthodics in my runners or boots, i get sore all over, ankles, calves, achilles. so im dammed if i do.. I take the blister option as its lesser of two evils. Compeed blister plasters are my saviour.

Tore Mayo minors to shreds in 05 final. That was some Down team.

Not one of that Down starting XV from that day is involved with the current Down senior team.

Cathal Magee was on that minor panel. And Packie Downey. Also McKernan made a sub appearance in the AI final. Plenty of others from that team have played for Down in recent times. Duffin, McComisky. Fitzpatrick and Garvey probably most notable.

Marty Clarke was a cut above any player at underage level. Too many individual performances to start naming. For school club and county. Crazy to think he is being talked about in such circles as McCartan, Linden, Blaney, Coulter et al as a legend of Down football. Im not saying hes not of that ilk but he only played 2 (?) seasons with seniors. I suppose that shows how much everyone thinks of him, he's held in such esteem. Such a shame the rest of the country didnt really get to see what us Down folk did. Yous really were all missing a treat.

Just seeing this thread now.

Instantly thought of the Alan Brogan bounce where he holds the ball up high in one hand and puffs out the cheeks, takes 10 steps. Or Benny Coulters trip he got away with so often, where he'd stick his leg into the defender tripping him leaving him on his arse and Benny solos on. Just about catch it at start of this clip. Technically a black card now though isnt it?

I like Ejaria alot. What a moment for Woodburn. Great pictures of him and Alexander-Arnold at full time. Just smiling and getting hugs from everyone. What a feeling for both, but especially Woodburn on scoring, at the kop, smashed it home, Dream come true.

If the mark rule shows us more of this, then bring it on.

From someone who maybe knows a thing or two about it. Would love to hear what his opinion is on it. Lots of players have played top level football, then played with the mark in AFL BUT having played football, then AFL, then football, back to AFL and now back again to football, he is surely the man who would give the best insight into it.

Ha never get tired of watching this

Is the scooter allowed to travel up inside stationary traffic like he did at the first junction ?

Yes, its called lane splitting and is perfectly legal for motorcycles to do it in stationary or slow moving traffic. Great for the commute in rush hour.

This is a bit more extreme...
