I'm going to South of France for 10 days and was thinking of driving around the riveria area and maybe up into the Alps
Are the French alps worth a look or am I better to go to the Swiss alps?

I'm sure Seafoid has a view on easier places to access the Alpine feeling, but the area around Lake Geneva will give you access to both countries in the Mont Blanc area of the Alps.  Cheaper in the French Alps for food and drinks.  But I love Switzerland and how everything just works.

Will be in Copenhagen for a few days so has anyone any recommendations for places to visit, eating, drinking, places to avoid etc.?

Bring plenty of money! Try Tivoli gardens / Nyhaven, all in and around the centre. A general mosy about the centre there plenty of places to eat and drink.

Thinking of doing a multi city holiday to USA next year. Say NYC, Las Vegas and LA - all for 4/5 days each. Does anyone know or recommend any travel company that specialise in this sort of holiday.

Don't waste your time going to the Little Mermaid, apart from beating through the bus loads of the cruise ships, it very small and not worth the effort.

Take a walk up Stroget - longest shopping street even if you don't shop, plenty of side streets and squares to visit.

Go on a canal boat trip to see the city from a different perspective.

If taking the kids go to Tivoli Gardens for old style fairground and plenty to eat.

Bring waterproof coats, soft days are the rule even in summer.

Beware of the 'silent killers' - cyclists rule and lanes are everywhere even lined on footpaths, you won't hear them coming at you and they stop for no one.  Get a bike and join them. Probably the damn e-scooters will be there!

Walk everywhere if not on bike - go to Amalienborg palace where the royal family live, see the lack of security, you can walk close to the front door of their residences but be wary of the guards.

Take a walking tour - free tours from outside the downhill every day - last about 1.5 hours and give a lot.

Go eating in the 'cheaper' restaurants in meatpacking district of Vesterbro - remember that cheaper in Copenhagen is a relative term so be prepared. Stay away from coffee house chains.  Always read the menu outside to check the prices.

Nyhavn is a must to see the quite small coloured building that are always associated with Copenhagen. Don't eat or drink there as it is Copenhagen expensive.

Good botanical gardens and reasonable natural history museum.  Carlsberg brewery probably worth a visit but a distance out from centre.

If you need a tour guide I am available for the price of flight and accommodation.

Cheers Owen - a lot of good stuff there. I'm there with work primarily, but tacking on a couple of days with the missus so we'll definitely follow your advice.

TourAmerica.ie , I know it's owner Mary and they have amazing staff.  But just do it yourself with some help from the folks on here. Or at least price both options. Stay at the beach in LA, whatever you do. Don't stay downtown. And if your kind of thing, do a couple of days at a vineyard in Temecula not too far from LA.

Go to the Dubliner! My mates young lad works there, will be the cheapest drinks you'll get in Copenhagen!
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Sorry Rois but dont, its hot, cheesy, expensive and the wine is kinda crap. Go North towards Santa Barbara, Solvang much prettier and better wine.

Otherwise good advice on downtown! ... tho it does have its charms and it is an experience

Agree with this, but if you've time it is worth considering a trip to Roskilde or Helsingor. I'm just back from Norway, in comparison Denmark is dirt cheap lol..

Ahh I liked the places we've visited!  Temecula has really reasonable vineyard stays, which I've been pricing recently.  I'll be visiting on the way to Palm Springs, and I know either you or someone else on here hates the place, so will leave it there  ;D

25 beers and 6 shots of 52% Slivovitz comes to €32 in Porac, Slovakia. Just saying like.

Presumably after downing 25 beers & 6 shots, you would have difficulty saying anything.
