Its probably more common than we think, people have got away with this and due to many things like a cover up or unable to trace it back to someone.

We only hear about it when they are caught, must be horrible for those involved and those that were not given closure due to lack of evidence

All participants would have to either have the day license or yearly license with Triathlon Ireland to do any triathlons. I'm surprised then that they allowed it to happen.

This will certainly have changed things should either death have been because of the swim.
