More like he couldn't do it on a wet windy night in Stoke. Crazy that 2 failed former Stoke strikers were leading the line at the end of a Champions League Semi Final.
Who's the other one?

Always great to see stories like this. Only got his first Spain cap last year too at 32. Unbelievable night for him and his family.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting
Thanks. They just missed each other at Stoke too I see. Very similar strike rate as well.
seen something the other day that a member of that Stoke 15/16 squad has played in CL semi finals something like 12 of the last 20 years.
That's mad. Kick and rush eh.

It's the Eurovision thread, if there was an act that wasn't absolutely ridiculous then we would have a problem  ;D  ;D

Act not really my cup of tea, and the song itself without the visuals, is not exactly easy on the ear. But I get why it's popular at Eurovision. It's not a song contest anymore. Acts that are a bit "Eurotrashy" or a bit out there have generally done well since the days of Dana and Jonny Logan.

Didn't realise she identifies as a witch though, act makes more sense now I guess. Don't know what the big deal is, we're as much from pagan stock as christian stock.

Quote from: snoopdog on May 08, 2024, 07:53:55 AMIf by some miracle Utd beat Arsenal. Then Arsenal just aren't good enough.
Well technically if City lost 2 games and Arsenal beat Everton, they would be good enough, but I know what you mean.

Quote from: Look-Up! on May 07, 2024, 07:19:18 AMTypical Utd. Will more than likely come out like men possessed against the gunners at the weekend.

I just cant see that backline and midfield matching up to Arsenal at the minute.

On the race for 4th.  Villa have 2 games left and I dont think that they win either of them (Liverpool H, Palace A). The hope is that Spurs go full on spursy.
With Fernandes, Scooby Doo and Rashford back, at home after that humiliation coupled with Arsenal being on edge anyway, I see drama and a real struggle and it would be just typical of Utd to play out of their skins and hand City the league.

I think Villa are safe. Spurs need 7 points and to correct a huge GD. Gunners would certainly love to see their north London rivals make a cut of it to get to CL. Means having to beat City.

"Scooby Doo" looks like somebody is a fan of that buck that makes money off United on youtube.

If Arsenal don't beat a United side by a bit to spare on Sunday with makeshift defence with loads of players starting whom have checked out because they know they won't be at the club next season then it will pretty much highlight why Its over 20 years since Arsenal won the league title.
Utd poor mouthing is getting old. They could take the field with a more expensive and higher paid team than Arsenal. Maybe if they stopped bending over at the sight of a sky blue jersey, the league in general would be better for it.

Quote from: markl121 on May 07, 2024, 10:39:55 AMCity don't need it handed to them. They do this every year. Win out.
If they win they win but I'd rather see them having to jump 3 hurdles and going to the last day.

Good weekend for Arsenal. I think Spurs' current form suits them as it can only improve one way from now on. Once Arsenal collect all 3 points against Utd next weekend, we're in for a grandstand finish. Hammers and Spurs are playing diabolically, players and managers are starting to get a bit of grief, so they should pull up their socks for their games against City.
I know City don't drop many points, but their squad is not huge. They've going for 4 in a row, just done a treble last year and were fighting on all fronts this year too until very recent. If they don't drop something in the next 3 games, it would be simply superhuman.
Just so long as Utd don't come out like the Busby Babes next weekend, which would be typical.

Quote from: Look-Up! on May 02, 2024, 09:42:31 AMWhat's people's take on Chelsea and Pochettino? Gets a very easy ride from the press compared to Utd, although if they win tonight they'll only be 3 points behind them.

With that squad though, surely they should be contenders. If they have everyone fit next year, a good manager should be at least competing for CL, and if City regress, a title. If they can't, you'd imagine huge financial implications are coming down the line.

If Abrahamovich was still there would be well gone. All the money wasted spent lack a decent no 9 and goalie. Conor Gallagher as captain shows lack of leaders in the group too.
Defensively poor too for a team that need to improve up front. Doesn't seem to be much structure to them, not that I see much of them. Maybe that's the problem, squad too big with loads of talent means they don't stick to a system or settled 11. Probably need a manager who's a c**t.
