Far from it as it's proved.

A bit like the GAA Board, the phone lines from Croke Park must be back in action again. I like Burns but he has stepped onto shaky territory here and has set himself a precedent.

Rossfan

Did he ring Armagh or Limerick Co Boards?

Outstanding leadership from our Uachtarain.
This shows a president who is prepared to take risks, when necessary, to do the right thing.
There is no point in the GAA signing up to an initiative on violence against women and girls and sitting back when a situation like this arises.
In Jarlath we trust.

Yeah don't think he'd any place to be getting involved tbh. I like him as well but he just wouldn't be the sharpest tool in the shed, does he have to ring Limerick about Kyle Haye or Armagh (I know the fella has left the panel but if and when he is cleared he may come back?)

Burns has a moral obligation to protect the values and the reputation of the GAA. His intervention on this occasion, whilst an unusual step, is the correct one.
Burns is good at 'reading the room' and knows that his stance will have wide-spread support.

Some can of worms to be opened if Gallagher takes the GAA up for loss of earnings for a job he's not meant to be getting paid for.

All those expenses lol.

Has the email been published?

I am genuionely asking here but from the odd bit I have seen, what grounds could Gallagher have to sue? The allegations were enough to bar him from the GAA.

Like you can't say loss of earnings. It's not a career in the strictest sense. If Burns didn't tell them not to hire him, then he is not stopping Naas from going ahead as planned.

them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

Paul Galvin to manage Meath Club Ratoath.

Haven't seen it, but apparently it was more a case of lads you should maybe think twice here about appointing him rather than saying lads don't appoint him.

Slippery slope imo, given that the police/pps haven't taken it any further then I don't think he should be getting kicked out of the GAA for good.

Where do we draw the line here as it is a slippery slope. If he was Joe Bloggs who had been accused of the same thing and a club tried to appoint him, would there be GAA top brass involvement? Does it only apply to high profile men?

What happens down the line if a woman is accused of domestic violence against a man?

Smokin Joe

Interesting choice of words by Gallagher where he says that Burns effectively did damage to his "ability to continue to work as a manager in the years ahead".
That certainly sounds like he might rely on employment legislation in the future.
I wonder were Naas GFC going to be his employer?  Cans of worms.

Do inter-county managers sign an actual  contract?

If not, how can he talk about 'loss of earnings' etc.?

No contract just agreements on how long they will stay which is why the term "sacked* should never be used in this sport.

Would have got money for mileage and the cost for each training session he did but with no contract he can't seek a loss of earnings.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Does every county manager payments be hid under mileage, or off the books all together through a direct paying sponsor.
