SATURDAY 23 JULY

Armagh v Sligo
Armagh and Sligo have struggled so far this season, both in the Championship and in their respective League campaigns.

Armagh managed to get the better of Sligo when the two sides met earlier in the year but following the Orchard County's heavy defeat to Monaghan in the opening round of the Ulster Championship, it will be interesting to see how they bounce back.

Sligo suffered a heavy loss themselves in their opening Championship match against Mayo, shipping six goals in the process. If Sligo can limit Caroline O'Hanlon's influence they have a chance but with neither side firing on all cylinders, it may well come down to which team digs deepest on the day.

Armagh v Sligo Senior Championship round 1 qualifier, Saturday, 3.30pm at Pearse Park:

Armagh: C McAlinden, S McCoy, A Donaldson, C McCann, R O'Reilly, L Brown, S McCleary, M Moriarty, C Malone, M Luckie, C O'Hanlon, L Knox, M O'Donnell, K Mallon, M McAlinden.

Sligo: K Connolly, E Codd, R Monaghan, A Ewing, A Marie Coleman, J Mulligan, A Horgan, B Byrne, S O'Sullivan, K Maloney, N Fowley, S McTiernan, L Gillespie, S Scully, N Gormley

Dublin v Kildare
All-Ireland Champions Dublin will be hoping to get their season back on track following their one-point loss to Meath in the Leinster semi-final. They face neighbours Kildare, who fell at the same stage, losing to eventual champions Laois.

Kildare have played at a higher level to Dublin in this year's National League so should not be overawed by the opposition and in Aisling Holton and Noelle Earley they have two of the stars of the modern game.

However, with two All-Ireland appearances in two years, Dublin's experience in big games may prove to be the deciding factor. With no more second chances, if Dublin can get enough quality ball in to Sinead Aherne they should advance to the next round.

Dublin v Kildare  Senior Championship round 1 qualifier, Saturday, 5.15pm at Pearse Park:

Dublin: C O'Connor, S Goldrick, J O'Sullivan, G O'Malley, G Fay, S Furlong, S McGrath, D Materson, N McEvoy, M Nevin, E Kelly, L Peat, N Healy, S Aherne, A Ring.

Kildare: E Kelly, P Delahunt, A Savage, D Tierney, K Leahy, A Holton, D Barry, B Leahy, J Timmins, T Noone, M Moolick, N Earley, S Cannon, D Gately, A Gately.

SUNDAY 24 JULY

Down v Donegal
Donegal have been making huge strides of late. Last year's Intermediate Championship victory was followed up by an encouraging performance during the league campaign, which saw them finish third behind Monaghan and Cork in Division 1. A set back in the Ulster Championship semi-finals against Tyrone means they now face another provincial clash in Clones this weekend.

Down were beaten comprehensively by Monaghan in the Ulster Championship and failed to impress in Division 3 during the League.

They crashed out of last season's Championship at this stage, and unless they can radically improve the form they have shown to date, a similar fate awaits them with Yvonne McMonagle and Geraldine McLaughlin expected to shine for Donegal.

Donegal v Down  Senior Championship round 1 qualifier, Sunday, 3pm in Clones:

Down: K Magee, C Higgins, C Moane, E Mulhern, K Boden, C Magee, O Quinn, S Venny, C Fitzpatrick, G Mc Clean, K Trainor, P Moane, N Ferris, S Ennis, S Kelly.

Donegal: R McCafferty, K Keeney, K Herrin, T McCafferty, G Houston, C Hegarty, K Wilson, A Mc Donnell, K Guthrie, R Friel, N Hegarty, E Gallagher, G McLaughlin, Y McMonagle, N McLaughlin.
