The Golden Years

I am aware of that .. don't think carmen will b winning the league or championship any time soon..

Nobody stated we would be winning the league or championship anytime soon but i feel we should be more competitive in the league than we were this year.  Don't forget we were league champions 2 years ago.  U shouldn't become an average division 1 team that quick.  I feel a lot of the bad performances was down to the management but saying that the players have to accept reasonability also. A strong personality is needed next year to gel the whole unit again and with an influx of quality minor players coming through we maybe can believe we can win again sooner rather than later.  ;)

I thought it was a strange decision for carrickmore not to concede the game against killyclogher. They had nothing to gain by winning, were playing a team who were obviously going to be much fitter than them at this stage of the year and a bad defeat was going to reflect badly on the management.

Pity to see Ardboe plastered all over the papers today...That type of stuff should be kept in house...

The management would look at it as being a lot worse of a look to concede.

You're right it should be but when conla young is about everything get sensationalised. I'd say the crest was merely for the centenary year that 2016 was nothing more nothing less.

Honourable decision but not a smart one

Club boi

It's probably much easier to list Clubs who DO NOT PAY their managers. So going on the current (2016) Season who can name a Club that doesn't hand out money in any form to Management. Go.........

Neither Donaghmore or Dungannon paid managers this year, good club men in charge of both clubs. Hetheringtons for Donaghmore and Slater and McRory for Dungannon.

Although given the time and effort and hassle involved you have to give credit to any club man who does it for nothing

St Enda's have paid nought in recent years with various club men at the helm. Word is Larry Strain and Barry McGinn are stepping down. If so, big shoes to fill after landing the O'Neill Cup and getting to the Ulster Club final.

WT4E

How come Errigal get to play their Div 1 reserve final and  Div 3 reserve championship semi final at home?

To manage your home club senior club team would be many managers dream job besides that of managing an all Ireland winning team but the problem with management of the home club team now a days not just senior level but nearly any level even youth teams is the endless criticism one has to endure from the constant sniping and back stabbing to the trolls on boards like this. It is much easier to take another club team and get a few expenses and not have to deal with the critics who would not take a job in the first place.
