Mickey Linden came on for our thirds on Sunday (50 years of age) at half time in the Down reserve championship. We were getting beaten by three points at the time but the legend lifted the team and scored four outrageous points and set up a goal to lead us to a six point victory. He has to be one of the oldest club player in the country? The word Legend is used loosely these days but there is no doubt Mickey is "the Legend"

GAA Discussion / Ulster Unity on Saturday!!!
July 29, 2010, 11:32:32 AM
Contrary to what a lot of supporters believe, I don't think that the Tyrone supporters are arrogant, loudmouthed etc etc. I have always admired your love of the GAA throughout the county and have met some really nice Tyrone men(and Women ;)). On Saturday i hope the Down ans can cheer for Tyrone and vive versa and hope we both can progress to the semi-finals!

General discussion / Orange arches
July 01, 2009, 04:13:55 PM
I was in Rathfriland earlier and took a close look at the arch in the square.. it was erected by the pride of the hill band and i was entriqued by the emblems on it... along a pic of her majesty ther was a DUP and UUP emblem, emblems of the B specials, UDR, RIR (i think), and Rangers football club and our wee country logo(football for all  ;))...
Is this the norm all over the six counties???? Would the POTH band have to get permission to use such emblems?????? ??? ???

I was reading through the Newry Democrat when i came to the book review page!!! Readers are invited to review books in no longer than 400 words, there was a review on Celtic FC- the Ireland connection by TONY FEARON POYNTZPASS.. I was puzzled because there is no prize or vouchers or tickets for best the nest review... Was this the real Tony Fearon?????

Armagh will have some midfield if he does not partner McGrane this year, He is one to look out for!!!!

On viewing the score of 2008 it got me thinking on what is your most memorable score from a gaelic match.. Recently for me it has to be Benny Coulters punched goal in the replay match with Tyrone this year!!! The buzz it generated was unreal!!!!!!
