Does anyone know if the anber engine light on the dash fail an NCT.
I know it wouldnt fail MOT in the North.
Anyone put a car through with that light on

What s it for?  Oil Pressure?  ABS?

Choice is either get whatever is wrong fixed or put it through and have the NCT tell you what wrong.

You may be lucky and get through.

I was on to my mechanic last night, he said any dash lights showing up is a fail.

the issue is the throttle chamber. Having trouble finding a secondhand one, Car not worth a new one.
Was hoping to put it through and get rid of the car.
Its runnung well just had it serviced.
Cant believe that light deems it not road worthy.

If the cars running ok I would get the mechanic to pull the bulb out of it to get you through the test, don't think there that fussy here in the black north in regards to engine management lights failing MOT's.

different in the north as my motor gets through every year with the engine warning light on...the reason being, the mechanic has the engine good to go, but only a servicing with an approved manufacturer and their computerised service will turn the warning light off

Remove fuses until bulb goes out till the nct is over. Then go back and sort it out.

Hi snoop dog - yes it does fail for a diesel anyways as they will be unable to do the emissions test part of the NCT.

Disregard this anyway snoop as the check engine light is aluminated by being grounded by the computer and no amount of pulling fuses will turn it off!
Its not often you're right myles, but you're wrong again  ;)

It's not possible, no dash warning light is fused separately let alone the
Check engine light ...maybe took the bulb out?
What kind of car was it?

Its my Missus's Nissan Micra, they have a history of throttle chamber issues. Im assuming anything to do with the throttle will effect the emissions

Oh it was the bulb that was taken out now that you say it.
