well I'm saying 15s as it was set in stone in terms of a start date and teams fully preparing for

keeping it may cause less disruption and allow most other even ages to come in..maybe throw in a 14 championship later in year ?

just suggesting

can an accomdation be made.. plough on with the u15s as teams have been out since Xmas and it was due start in 3 weeks, change rest..so maybe u12-15-16-18 ??

You couldn't play u16 and u15 makes zero sense. If it's u16 the u15 panel is boosted by a few additions to take into the league/championship campaign.

Would be brilliant so see an u12 league back. And hopefully more club retention of players having u18s this year. No point wasting a year. Get it done.

Nothing has been set in stone. Clubs have known this vote has been coming for weeks. It's actually shame on the county board for allowing it to carry on so long without taking the clubs in to have the vote to make plans.

They have been dragging their heels, creating this delay. Maybe there is no appetite for in in Garvaghy or the fact there is no CCC chairperson in place has left them without a decision maker. This delay falls on Sludden

it was communicated to clubs u15 league starting 11th march..I know our club have been playing friendlies, training hard etc past 6 weeks...

and lot are at older age bracket and have to move to 16s which is already top heavy with players

I guess its just back to drawing board if vote goes through..

Central Council only confirmed this age grade policy the weekend before last? 9 days ago.

Nobody expected them to allow counties to change before 2024. It's no fault of anyone in Tyrone and you'll see a similar discussion is taking place in all counties

Agree but it's Tyrone who have been pushing for this a number of years (without success) when this change was granted then an emergency meeting should have been called to set the wheels in motion. Armagh have voted this through yesterday, so it's not to difficult if the will is there.

Tyrone have already shown the will is there with the fight they have brought to past Congress's wether the will to implement is there will be seen, or do we let another year go past.

Harsh enough on the county board. Did word not only come through last week that the counties could decide themselves? A meeting was called the following week (tonight) so that clubs could use the week to canvass opinion within their own committees/youth committees for how they will vote. Its the first week in February - there's plenty of time. U15s that are already out training can just add a few more u16s into the mix. I don't really see the big deal.

And who is the club that has been out training 6 weeks with friendly matches and all played? 6 weeks ago was the week in between Christmas and New Year and the county board only notified clubs of start dates for various competitions at the end of January. . .

Clubs and the county board knlynlearned last weekend about the option to change, clubs had 9 days to think about it, vote tonight and hopefully new dates out by weekend. I can't see how we could have moved any quicker than that

This isn't true.

The news only broke on 20th of January that U15s would be played first. 6 weeks  ;D 6 sessions more like it you drama queen

There we have it - Tyrone have opted to revert to the U12,U14, U16 and U18 model, effective immediately. Decoupling at 17. A vote on the matter was taken by club delegates in Garvaghey this evening. The county will also organise a further age grade between U18 and adult level.

Those were always the correct grades to play however Feile is still u15 and County minors are u17. Those need resolved also. Antrim stuck with odd numbers for the year so St Paul's will be u17 also.

We just need to see the least worst option for the fixtures.

Option 1
U12, U16 & U20 now with U14 & U18 in the summer
Lads aged 12/13 and 16/17 suffer a 13 month break from u13/u17 ended last year.
U15 competition for Feile will have to be run along side u16's.
Lads aged 18 will be in College before minors finish.

Option 2
U14 & U18 now with U12, U16 in the summer
Forget about u20's as club leagues will be up and running
U18's get messed about by progress of County u17's.

At least grading will be easy to resolve. Same as last year unless you won or finished bottom.

Where did you see that St Paul's sticking with U17?

Does anyone know what the shortest tenure is for a County Chair?
