I assume Trillick is still going out to beat Clonoe ?

Trillick are the kind of club to do favours to no one,

My sources beg to differ

Trillick are the kind of club to do favours to no one, which is fair enough TBH. At the same time I doubt they'll go into fifth gear against Clonoe just to secure home advantage in a league semi final.

Also I see the Minor Football Grade 1 Championship Final between Donaghmore & Eglish is being held in Fintona tomorrow night. Now I'm not complaining, glad to have one of the biggest games of the year on my doorstep, but was a venue in the east of Tyrone not available that would have been closer for both competing sides?

What hold do Fintona have over the County Board? How does a training pitch get so many championship games? I also see there are Senior Championship games fixed there too. Are the lights even proper match lights? Hardly inspiring going to play Championship on a training pitch,  not even a stand or anything for supporters. Bit of a joke really that it gets so many games, considering how good the set up on the bottom pitch is and it doesn't get any anymore.

Lights. From my understanding stewartstown and eoghan ruadh hurling were unavailable on wednesday. Only options then are Fintona or omagh.

Kildress have floodlight facilities for a game of this size and would be handier for both teams
Carrickmore another option

A win on Sunday doesn't really do anything for them does it in terms of avoiding even the play offs? Galbally/pomeroy/edendork will be a tough play off final match too if they get as far as that stage. As RedHand says they are in serious bother. There'll be some inquests in Clonoe if they do suffer relegation.

There is Gortin's motivation for the play-offs

Lol. Here's some more motivation - Gortin have no chance of getting to Div 1. Not good enough currently.

will the energy crises have an effect on clubs

Great to have the reserve leagues and championship cleared up by the end of August. Way it should be every year.

Leaves a lot of teams struggling for numbers at training

Noticed last time at Fintona they have a generator running their lights (rather than running from the grid or as backup?)
They'd probably be able to give a figure (in litres of Diesel) of what it costs to run the lights when they host a championship game

In what way, I'm sure the senior panel are training away.

I see a good few sports pavilions round the country have solar panels on the roof. Does anyone know how these work in terms of electricity bill? i.e. if the sun is shining is the club off grid and not importing any electricity or is it exporting to the grid and getting paid for it? I know it will depend on the usage at the time but I would be curious because I have heard some stories of people who have panels on their roof who are getting paid about 5p per unit that they generate but charged a multiple of that when they are importing. I know there are different ways to set this up with batteries etc but I woudl be interested if the clubs who have panels would recommend it and the best way to do it?

Our club have had solar panels for a good few years. I believe we make around ~£12,000 a year from them, which comes from NIE in quarterly payments. As far as I know this offsets a good proportion of electricity spend.

Don't think we have water connected up to them though. That would probably be a further saving.

Are we just going to ignore the fact that Fintona U15s defeated Carrickmore U15s in Grade 1 last night.

They beat them in u13 championship last year. It wasn't their Senior teams so I am not sure why it needs comment.
