Ah brilliant article. Pat is one of the legends of Laois gaa and still giving plenty to the cause. An absolute gentleman, too.

Gas men them Duff's. Good song too. Does Cheddar make an appearance in that video? There's a lad not too unlike him!

Nice little write up by Teddy Fennelly about the history of O'Moore Park. Interesting stuff:

If my memory is correct didnt Kildare fall foul of a similar situation a few years back (Ironically against Sligo). And Sligo's manager is Niall Carew who was involved with Kildare at the time. Or was it Sligo who fell foul ????

I think the Kildare subs controversy was against Offaly back in 2006.

Twice in two consecutive years.

The first time was the first game of the 2002 league which was Micko's last year. Kildare and Sligo drew in Newbridge in the first game of the campaign. It was the first year of the blood sub rule which there was some confusion over. Kildare used six subs and Sligo were awarded the points.

The following year Kildare beat Sligo in Markievicz Park by a point. Kildare hadn't listed their substitutes on the teamsheet and Sligo objected. The game was replayed at the end of the league which Sligo then won and Kildare were relegated.

Carew wouldn't have been involved in either year.
