Bradley available for Derry

Paddy Bradley Glenullin
30 May 2007

The Dispute Resolution Authority has deemed that the Derry County Board did not follow the correct procedures in handing down a 12-week suspension to Paddy Bradley, thus freeing the ace attacker to line out against Antrim in Sunday's Ulster SFC quarter-final.

Bradley went to the DRA on Tuesday night after his appeals to the Derry County Board and Ulster Council against his 12 week suspension were unsuccessful. The All Star nominee was banned after an incident following a club game when he was alleged to have spoken out of turn to a referee.

The ban would have kept Bradley out of Sunday's Ulster opener against Antrim and a possible semi-final against either Monaghan or Down.

However, it is possible that the Glenullin man may not make the Oak Leaf team as he has not trained with the county since his suspension was handed down, rather preferring to train with his club.

The DRA deemed that the correct suspension procedures had not been followed through and have referred the case back to the Derry County Board, who could still decide that Bradley should at some late time serve the remainder of his ban.

Almost every Armagh player from the AI ainning side not from Crossmaglen.

You mean players like:
Ronan Clarke: Young player of the year and an All Star
McGeeney:  Player of the year and 3 all stars
Marsden: All star
Enda McNulty: All Star
Paul McGrane:  All Star
McDonnell:  All Stars and Player of the year
Aidan O'Rourke:  All Star

That leaves Toal, McKeever, Tierney for the first 15, hardly a bad bunch of players over all!

I wouldn't be too harsh on Hearty, yes it was a bad mistake but it happens to the outfield players all the time and nothing is said.  Plus he made to fantastice saves in the westmeath match in the league, if he hadn't we'd be in division 3 next year.

Seen Clarke at the match yesterday, wasn't limping in the slightest! definitley no leg cast on anyway, he even ran into the dug out at the start of the second half.

Probably because he's shite!  Relegated boro and West Brom, and needed terry venables to save him one other time.

Have to agree that I think S Kernan isn't up to county standard, but if/when he starts on Sunday he'll hopefully prove us all wrong.  Dont think anyone should be giving him, or any other armagh player abuse during a match, if your not going to support the team dont bother going.

Yeah its all ticket.  You should be able to get tickets off your local club if they haven't been given out already

Lads yis are assumming that McFadden will be playing in the corner forward position.  He played in FF in the league final, and I think he will be staying there with Devenny on the wing.  I'd have Geezer or Toner in full back with enda in the corner.

the team I'd go for is:

Hearty

Mallon
Geezer
McNulty

Kernan
McKeever
Dyas

McGrane
Toner

Lavery
Marsden
O'Rourke (or maybe Toal)

McDonnell
McConville
Forker

O Neill quit raving.  Pat Spillane started the diving.  Laois last year were ridiculous. Martin O Rourke has a bad name for it but one thing that cannot be disputed Marsedn hit young Jordan and diserved to go.

Catch yourself on will ya! Jordan ran at Marsden, bounced off him then lay down and cried like the cheating little shit he is!

The ref can maybe cut down on the time wasting, but there's nothing much he can do about diving or cheating, he's being conned as well.  Its down to the coaches and players themselves to get rid of that stuff.

Tyrone definitley aren't the only team at this, just seems like there is more individuals willing to do it.  Every team has 1 or 2 players like this though, even Armagh! ie Martin O'Rourke

just confirmed on Hoganstand:

Derry's Ulster SFC hopes have suffered a major blow with the news that star attacker Paddy Bradley's appeal to the Ulster Council against his three-month suspension has failed.

Bradley's second appeal against the ban was heard by the Ulster Council's Hearings Committee on Thursday night and despite the Glenullin man's presence at the hearing, the provincial body ruled that the ban would remain. He had previously made an unsuccessful appeal to his own county board against the ban which was imposed on him following an alleged altercation with a referee at the end of a club game between Glenullin and Loup last month.

Bradley had continued training with the Derry squad in the hope that the suspension would be lifted, but he's now resigned to missing the Ulster SFC opener against Antrim on June 3 and a potential Ulster semi-final against Down, Cavan or Monaghan on June 24. He would, however, be eligible for both the first and second round All-Ireland qualifiers on July 7 and 14.
